When newlyweds encounter a corpse while bungee-jumping off of a bridge, Brennan and Booth are sent to investigate. After determine the cause of death was not suicide, the team at the Jeffersonian discover an unknown substance coming from the body. This sends the lab into lockdown and have only 24 hours to uncover the murderer before the body disintegrates.

When Dr. Sweets' book gets published, both Booth and Brennan read it and tell him about the first time they met: 6 years ago. The episode will give a new perspective on Booth and Brennan's relationship, and will also give viewers the chance to see Zack Addy again, and Dr Saroyan as a New York Coroner.

The Jeffersonian team investigates the death of Colin Haynes, a struggling country music singer whose remains were found in a shallow grave. When the team learns about the victim's music career, it leads them to his record label, which, they discover, was deceitful in its dealings with him. Meanwhile, squintern Wendall Bray breaks his arm during a hockey game and Brennan takes a closer look at his injuries, only to discover some shocking news.

With Kovac still at large, the team searches for evidence to track him down. After Brennan experiences a setback, the rest of the team must figure out how to find Kovac without her, putting everything she has ever taught them to the test. When all signs point to Kovac having outside help, as well as a hideout, Booth and Brennan go searching for him.
