Psychology student Scott Miller shares meets Charlie through an internet chat room and becomes obsessed.

Scott returns to his classes, determined to catch up, when the CD-ROM KILLER NET arrives.

The dead body is identified as Scott's friend Charlie.

Scott is remanded in custody, while DCI Collingwood interviews students who were at the club on the night that Charlie was killed.
