Item: Arena
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: Before this show gets completely built-out here, I think it ought to be collapsed into a single season. First because the current seasons are named for years, which the contribution bible disallows. Second because the BBC does not assign seasons to Arena. Third because it will be easier to catch duplicate entries for re-airs.

Before we start removing seasons, I'd like to map out a list of all the episodes. We can always create an episode group to reflect each year.

I agree with Ben. This Arena entry is a mess unfortunately. Do I have your agreement to add everything into the first season when I have the chance?

Since reporting this, I've noticed BBC (among others) starting to take a series-by-year approach to some shows, but not Arena, which remains season-less. To Rebecca's suggestion, while I have assembled my own offline episode lists for other shows, I haven't got around to this one. As long as a mod can move episodes between seasons, to reflect whatever season structure is ultimately chosen, I see no downside to entering all the episodes in Season 1 for now. Until that's confirmed, though, I'd hesitate to invest effort.

I was going to ask if we should include the early seasons (1975-1978) when there was Arena: Cinema, Arena: Theatre, Arena: Art and Design, etc., consisting mainly of interviews, or if we should focus on the 1979-present single-film format. That is, until I realized BBC includes some of those early programs in their Arena episode guide.

The other problem is the TMDB as it stands includes repeats as new episodes. Since the mod doesn't seem to be doing anything, I'd be happy to work through the BBC Genome and just fill up season one with each new episode and air dates.
