A fire at a dilapidated farmhouse leaves Maddie's fate unclear. We are introduced to two additional ghosts at Split River High.

Maddie and the ghosts confront Mr. Martin, ultimately trapping him in the afterlife; new information leads to a chase through the school's scars, delaying Maddie's return to the living world and putting her body in jeopardy.
