Hey now, I disagree with what some users are doing (there’s really no need to ask for the mods to screw up anime data) as much as the next person, but let’s not lower ourselves to name-calling.

I just request for them to follow their rules. Fight againt the rules, not me. When they end up doing this and the show is on the third or forth season, it gives a lot more trouble to merge and move the data for the services that use it.

Just to be clear, I don't like this rule too, but I can't change it. And I like it even less when there is a lot of data to fix because the change was made after the show already has a lot of data.

Regarding the initial report, the episodes have been merged into a single season due to the episode numbering continuing.

I was under the impression that TMDB considered the official website for an anime the most important source for accurate information but the official website clearly says that this is the second season. The official site clearly has the seasons as first period, second period so what TMDB is doing directly contradicts what the designers of this anime intended along with the rest of the internet.

Even the original poster here says they don't like/agree with the guide but they don't want to do more work in the future if this left as a second season. That is a great indicator that the rules are wrong, ie. the rules are only being followed because they are the RULES not because they make any sense.

It's time to make a change TMDB mods, I think is was great that you fixed Urusei Yatsura (2022) to remove the segmented episodes and I hope that change stays the same going forward but this whole issue of relying on only the episode number and not the season number that the anime designers intended needs to be rethought as well.

I have never seen any commenters on here give positive feedback about this rule only an overwhelming amount of negative feedback and very few people like the op that don't believe in the rule but only follow it for the sake of having less work/disfunction in the future.
