Under mysterious circumstances, 17-year-old Anna and her mother, Eva, move from Shanghai back to Eva's hometown. They take up temporary residence with Eva's brother, Christian, and his two children, with no explanation as to why they suddenly left China. Anna feels lonely in her new surroundings until she meets the charming Carl. She is given the opportunity to become part of his inner circle, but how far is she willing to go for it?

Anna is invited to a concert with Carl, Paloma and Eddie. But with the invitation comes a clear expectation. With ulterior motives, Anna takes over Olivia's job as a veterinary assistant while Eva tries to manage their critical financial situation.
