Jay explores the history of the area of central London, finding out how the West End helped make the city a magnet for visitors from around the world. He starts his journey at St Martin-in-the Fields church in Trafalgar Square, hearing how an incredible discovery made in 2006 changed people's opinions of the origins of London.

Jay takes in Piccadilly Circus; London's oldest hotel; and visits world-renowned department store Selfridges; and Soho, which saw the very first British night club.
