But that even makes sense if the production of a particular movie/series if depicting the work as a reboot/new?

So as per your logic 'Lost in Space' series from Netflix should be casted within the old series with the same name as it's a reboot only and with all other different rebooted series as well. Just because a TV channel thought to show it as the existing part of the series doesn't make sense. Also the original production house Xilam itself produced it as a fresh content. Thoughts?

As per our rules, we follow the way it was originally broadcasted in the origin country.

Xilam is a French company. Consequently, we should follow the original French broadcast which has been done by Gulli.

I get that, it means if i want to add a new "Episode" (not a reboot series) then you can definitely add as per the original broadcast no doubt. But here we are talking about the whole new series. What Gulli did/mentioned was their choice. But it's a production of Xilam not Gulli. I can make a movie/tv series and set up a contract and let any broadcasters and steamer air my work. But that doesn't mean the production I made would differ. If you can find me if Xilam said it's an 8th Season then you can close this ticket, I won't say anything. I know you're following the rule. But again, the rule itself is adding about new "Episode" *(not a reboot series) *

C'mon its not like I am requesting any illegal content modification; I have provided a whole load of source and evidence stating Next Generation is a separate/reboot series.

You can consult with your seniors in this case. I am open for any other discussion but for now I believe its the right thing to do, adding Next Generation as a separate show.

We need to follow how the series was originally broadcasted on the original network. Consequently, the official site for us is always the site of the original broadcaster, not the one of the producer.

No. Adding it is against our rules.

@superboy97 is correct. While it may have been produced by Xilam as a separate series, it was not broadcast as a separate series; it was broadcast as the next season of an existing show. The network's website, in this case the Gulli website, is really the only one that matters.

Revivals and Sequels

For regular series and miniseries that have sequels, we usually try to mirror the networks. Was it broadcast as the next season or as the first season of a new series? Did the sequel use the same website or have a new one?

For instance, Prison Break: Resurrection aired as the fifth season of Prison Break, Twin Peaks: The Return is the third season of Twin Peaks, and the brand-new season of The X-Files is season 11.

However, revivals such as Heroes Reborn, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, Will & Grace and American Idol are new series.

Please put personal feelings aside and keep in mind that the most important thing for TMDb is the original release format.

Since Oggy and the Cockroaches: Next Generation is a French production that first aired in France as the next season of an existing TV show, and added as such to the network's website, it should also be listed as the next season of this show on TMDB as well, not as a separate entry.

Gulli did messed it up and advertised it as the existing part. Just a marketing strategy to gather the viewership. But I get it rules here have been based on broadcasting. Assuming TMDB values the broadcasters more than the creators.
