Reverend Daniel Webster's problems begin when his daughter is arrested for possession of drugs and his brother-in-law goes missing, along with a substantial amount of the church funds.

Judith decides to confront Daniel about the fact that their sex life was discussed during one of Rev. Daniel's counseling sessions. Also, Peter endures an uncomfortable exchange during Sunday dinner when his grandfather Bishop Bertrum Webster grills him about his sexual preferences. Meanwhile, Adam's romance is in jeopardy when he falls out of his girlfriend Caroline's window and is quickly discovered on the hood of her father Roger's car.

Daniel faces a tough decision regarding the stolen school funds and is confronted with criticism when he gets Father Frank and his Mob connections involved in the matter. Elsewhere, Judith asks her mother to remove her name from the deed to the Websters' home, and Grace is recognized for her talent as a manga artist.

Reverend Daniel Webster is forced to draw a hard line with his son Adam after the boy misses the groundbreaking of St. Barnabus school because he's been detained by the headmistress of Queens Cross due to an incident involving Caroline. Meanwhile, Judith has lunch with her brother-in-law Worth Webster to express her interest in joining him on the campaign trail, but her intent is open for speculation by the prying Nora Paxton. Elsewhere, Grace learns that Lorraine's diabetes is causing her more pain than she leads on - and in the process discovers what happened to her missing marijuana.

Judith gets a call to attend a function for Worthy. She still hasn't told Daniel yet about the possibility of working for him. Daniel comes downstairs, sick as a dog. Rainy nearly collapses at the sink and the whole family worries about her health. Grace pulls her aside and wants to know if her diabetes are afflicting her. She still wants to get her more pot.

Daniel final expects his father Bertram Webster to open St. Barnabas' school. He discovers mobster Tony Vaporelli is a closet gay, fearing to be burn in hell and be killed if outed. Peter's cover date Adele forces him to have sex in her aunt bishop Beatrice's car but fails to remove the condom wrapper. Adam has joined a mixed swimming team and dodges classes, so he can shower with Carolyn. They have sex in her boarding school in between classes, but he gets locked-out wearing boxers only. Daniel promises the tough parenting the incorrigible scamp desperately needs. Judith joins Worth's electoral campaign.

Reverend Daniel Webster stumbles upon a young girl after church and is surprised to learn she sees Jesus the same way he does. Concerned that her "chats" might be indicative of deeper issues, Rev. Daniel questions her parents, which leads the mother to admit in private that she may have breast cancer. Meanwhile, Judith urges their son Adam to take a part-time internship in his brother Peter's department only to have it backfire when Adam hits it off with Peter's advisor and inadvertently outs him, causing him to lose an important case study. Elsewhere, Judith runs into Daniel's brother, Worth, who comes close to rekindling more than her own latent career ambitions.
