Highlights and analysis of the day's three Premier League matches, plus a round-up of the weekend's earlier action, introduced by Mark Chapman with guests Alan Shearer and Ian Wright. The Merseyside derby was the first action of a thrilling day's football, with Liverpool making the short trip to Goodison Park to face local rivals Everton in the early kick-off. The theme of intense rivalry continued, with Manchester United taking on Arsenal. United claimed a first away victory under Louis van Gaal at the Emirates Stadium in this fixture last season. Elsewhere, Tottenham travelled to Swansea.

Manish Bhasin presents highlights of West Ham v Bournemouth and Sunderland v Middlesbrough. Today is West Ham's first league game at their new home, the former Olympic Stadium in Stratford, which boasts a capacity of 60,000. The corresponding fixture last season produced a thrilling match, with Bournemouth winning 4-3 thanks to a Callum Wilson hat-trick. Newly promoted Middlesbrough make the trip to the Stadium of Light to face their north east rivals and are hoping to claim a first Premier League away win since 2008. Sunderland narrowly avoided relegation last season, and new boss David Moyes will be keen for his side to get points on the board early in the current campaign. There is also a look at all the goals and major incidents from the games which took place on Friday night and Saturday.

Mark Chapman introduces highlights from Sunday's two Premier League fixtures, along with all the goals from the rest of the weekend's games. Manchester City take on West Ham at the Etihad Stadium. Slaven Bilic's Hammers were 2-1 winners in last year's corresponding fixture, as Victor Moses and Diafra Sakho both scored for the visitors with Kevin de Bruyne supplying City's consolation. West Brom play Middlesbrough at the Hawthorns in the first top-flight meeting between the sides since January 2009. West Brom ran out 3-0 winners that day with their long-serving midfielder Chris Brunt amongst the goalscorers, against the club where his career began.

Mark Chapman presents highlights of the day's two Premier League matches. In the first match of 2017, Spurs face the short trip to Vicarage Road to face Watford. Tottenham have never lost to Watford in the Premier League and were 2-1 victors in the corresponding fixture last season - a game which also took place over the festive period. In the later kick-off, Arsenal take on Crystal Palace at the Emirates. Dauntingly, the Eagles have only won two of 32 all-time league meetings home and away against the Gunners.
