Discuss So You Think You Can Dance

I know this is late but I am watching the June 26 episode and I am just blown away by the dancer that calls herself Impavido (the girl with the blue hair). I thought she was incredible. A perfect mix of contemporary with some funky moves. I hope she makes it to the top 10

I have been so impressed with the dancers and the choreographers this season. Such a breath of fresh air after the last few mediocre seasons. At this point, I think it's anyone's game for the final four, but I hope to see Lex, Kiki, Kione, and Taylor as final 4. I'd be equally happy if Logan makes it in instead of Kiki. The only one I don't think deserves it is Kaylee. Kaylee is awesome, but the rest of them are on a whole other level.

It's funny, during the auditions, Kaylee was definitely one of my favs. She is so dynamic to me, but I agree that she has somehow lost her light. I think it may have to do with having Cyrus as a partner. She may have shone more if Robert was her partner.

I'm sure the finale is going to be a show-stopper

I completely agree. Kaylee had so much potential going in and suffered from having a poor all star partner. I'm not saying Cyrus is bad; he is brilliant at what he does, but he and Kaylee don't mesh very well and he's the weakest of the all stars. Robert brings out the best in any dancer he's with, and I'm sure he would have done great things with Kaylee. I think Kaylee would have done well with Comfort or Allison as well.

They also didn't do her any favors by putting her in a trio with Lex and Logan. Those two guys are leaps and bounds ahead of every dancer in the cast including most of the all stars.

Once again the opening dance number was STUNNING!! Kudos Christopher Scott. I just started watching last night's episode. Im actually nervous..LOL

That group opening number was terrific, as also was (among other performances of last night's show) the group dance that just all-stars performed. That really wowed me.

It's an excellent Top 4 that has been selected. I know which two I'm betting - and hoping - will be Top 2. star trophy

Yes, the all stars routine was beautiful as well.

I will be happy with any one of them winning, but Lex is just so talented. Its hard not to root for him. My second choice would be Kione. I know this is not popular, but I don't understand the Kiki love

Who are your choices?

We share the same Top 2, of Lex, then Kione. And, like you said, I, too, would be happy with whomever wins, if someone else. Lex and Kione do most completely and thoroughly have the star and wow factor about them though.

Meanwhile, I'm still hoping that Kione and Marco will become a real-life couple - if they're not (perhaps) already! They so completely look and seem truly like an actual made-for-each-other couple!

They are rather cute together. I just hope Marco is into girls (one never knows). She is a gorgeous young lady for sure. It's always interesting to see who becomes couples.

How do you feel about Mia Michaels returning? I used to love her choreographer, but not her personality. Truth be told.

I'm with you about Mia. Something about her personally I never have cared for (she seems very full of herself or something), though she certainly has choreographed some phenomenal routines.

I was glad that last night included a Bollywood and also a disco number, as I always really enjoy whenever either turns up on the show. I hope Lex wasn't significantly injured during his disco performance with Kione, as it was very evident, when he and Kione were approaching Kat, then being interviewed by her, that despite him stating otherwise he was obviously in pain that he was trying to not let show. Kione, who normally smiles all the time when up there with Kat, clearly realized Lex had somehow injured or strained himself and showed genuine serious concern for him on her face the entire time.

I played back their dance performance I believe four times, trying to spot when something may have happened that injured Lex, though everything looked like at no point did he ever noticeably hurt or perhaps twist something. I'm guessing that weight probably landed hard or a bit "off" somewhere.

I watched it again as well. There was nothing obvious for sure. I think he may have been dizzy. There were so many spins and crazy lifts all happening so fast. It made me dizzy to be quite honest..haha.

But I think you are right, as tiny as Kione is, between all the rehearsing and then the final performance (which they both gave their all), I'm sure he experienced some wear and tear. These kids are not used to all that rigorous lifting. I always felt that choreographer (forget her name) did a bit too much with these dancers. I think Brandon (cant remember which season) was the best at doing her disco choreography.

It's admirable how stoic he was. He is such a cutie. Him and Kione are rather cute together as well.

Yeah, I don't know how the dancers pull off all the feats they're expected to from week to week, as many of the routines feature incredible athleticism, that most "mere mortals" would wind up getting carried out on a stretcher if they were to try to do whatever!

I'm amazed that contestants don't rampantly experience head injuries and the such, between kicks, death-drops, spins, or whatever all else.

By the way, that was an amazing routine that Kione did with Robert, that involved the clothes hanger (Robert remembering "her" wearing the garment). That was extremely imaginative choreography, and beautiful, impressive dancing.

I'm also really happy with the top 4. I think it could have gone either way between Logan and Kiki, but I'm fine with Kiki making it in. My top two are Lex and Kione. Kione has been a favorite of mine since Day 1, and Lex crept up on my radar in the last few weeks. Tayor is exquisite, but I can't quite connect with her for some reason. Kiki has a great personality, but I can't help but watch Jenna every time they are on stage. It should be a great finale.

I also agree about Mia. She does great work but I never cared for her personality. I always thought she was overly mean when she judged in the early seasons... and not in a Simon Cowell good way. lol. Something about her just came off as almost sanctimonious, but her pieces are always amazing.

Something about Taylor just doesn't resonate. I think her need for perfection overpowers her potentially fun personality. She is too much in her head or something.

I agree with you regarding Kiki. I thought the performance where they were fighting over the paycheck was so dynamic I replayed that dance a few times. Other than that, he is just okay to me. I think the audience (young girls and maybe some boys) are just crushing on him.

The finale will be epic!

I agree with everything you both said. The same general (but to a much greater extent) sort of thing that is why we haven't been feeling a connection to Taylor is why I think, likewise, Logan got eliminated; he's an amazingly phenomenal dancer, perhaps the most technically masterful of this season's contestants, however just never came across in a sort of way that enabled him to effectively click with viewers. It was like, in his case, he was too perfect, but with something about his personality that doesn't hold appeal, therefore that, though he impressed, one was left not particularly caring.

Kiki isn't the greatest dancer of the batch, but works hard, is likeable, and has a "real" type of personality that I think has been the combination that, along with his talent, has kept him in the running.

This has been a really excellent season, and it'll be a shame to see it end soon.
