Discuss The Sinner

Really weird, but it felt like I wasn't seeing anything new and was dissapointed. I don't know maybe I just wasn't paying attention enough or there was nothing to pay attention to. Scratching my head on this one. 🤔

Those seven stab wounds weren't necessarily initially made by Cora, I think she is mimicking them. Remember how Franklin took her arm and pushed the knife into himself? I think this has something to do with her sister. I'm not going to speculate any further 😊

I'll have to rewatch the stabbing scene to see that. You've got a good theory going I'll keep checking for your posts! 😁

Just here to correct myself. I've rewatched the stabbing several times now and at first I thought it looked like he grabbed her elbow, looked up to her, recognised her and pushed her toward him. Now I see that Hobbs was right. It happens very fast but you can almost see in Franklin's face some sort of surrender as he lets go of Cora's arm. Very eerie.

There's definitely sexual assault involved here because of what Cora saw and said before the stabbing, but with the specifics of the stab wounds and Cora's complex upbringing, I still think the twin sister has great significance.

I don't believe they're twins they showed a baby and Cora was about 4 maybe. That mother is pure evil and mentally ill.

Right, I remember that scene now. How on earth were they allowed to bring that baby home in the first place. Poor Cora, guilt-ridden from childhood.

Oh I know at first I thought she brought the baby home dead it was quite a scene. Then later on was the husband sleeping in Coras room when she was a child?

I had a really hard time watching the scenes with the mother mentally/emotionally abusing Cora. It was worse than watching physical abuse. Very sick.

I agree it was hard to watch she was so little

Ok so please stop me if I'm taking this too far. Cora is constantly hearing about how she is to blame for her sisters sickness. She's starting to feel nothing but contempt for her and want her out of her life. We saw evidence of that with the chocolate, but there could also be child abuse going on as the father seemed to be sleeping in her bed as you mentioned, @jingles173. Then there is even more reason for Cora to despise her sister, even if the hate is misdirected. I'm starting to think the story of Cora is just beginning.

Oooh you could be onto something maybe she did act out aggressively towards her sister at one point. The show is def interesting especially with all the back story. So we found out her parents are still alive but they never mention the sister. Hoping ep 3 is them visiting the parents
