Superman leaves Earth for New Krypton to aid inhabitants of his homeland in their civil war against the sinister Lord Nor. Meanwhile, in Smallville, Nor holds Clark's parents hostage as slaves.

After Superman is unmasked as an impostor in a Kryptonian tribunal, the Man of Steel faces Nor in mortal combat.
