I know this is just a rumor right now, but man, wouldn't this be a real drop down for AJ if he has to face Shane at WM? AJ has had such a great year and really deserves to have a WM match with someone that he could have an incredible match with.
I would be ok with it being with Shane if they had been building up the animosity between the two over the last few months, but they haven't..

It's sad news considering the possibilities, but the thing with AJ is that he's so fucking good that he probably will actually have a good/entertaining match with Shane. Lord knows they'll get to go big and bold (does any Shane match ever not?) and if Styles could make it work with Ellsworth to the degree that he did then this should be no problem. Sad that they're robbing him of match of the year possibilities, but you can't keep a real great one down.

I don't have much of a problem with it because a match with Shane will be treated as a big deal and given copious amounts of TV time in the lead-up to it. Plus, you know Shane is willing to go balls to the wall and take crazy risks to put on a great show, and AJ is willing to do the same, and a huge brawl and spotfest between the two could produce an excellent and memorable match.
Besides, what are the other possibilities anyway? Other than an intra-brand match with Finn Balor (whom isn't due back till after Wrestlemania), there's practically no one left unless you wanna throw him into a multi-man Intercontinental Title match.

It'll be a featured main event that will be heavily promoted. It will most likely be one of the major main events featured on the card so I don't really have a problem with it whatsoever. I still wish we had gotten Shane McMahon vs Brock Lesnar though, that's still left over from last year and I don't see the point in having Goldberg vs Lesnar III just as yet.

It’s good sign of WWE’s commitment to Styles. That may seem hard for his fans to believe, however McMahon matches are usually reserved for the elite. There are those, such as the Miz or Ziggler, who have a championship run followed by a lifetime of midcard obscurity, and those, such as Cena and Orton, who become permanent fixtures in the main event scene. If you’re considered worthy of a McMahon match, you probably fall into the latter category...
That said, I would rather see Shane vs. HHH and Styles vs. Rollins, however it’s clear that WWE are trolling the fan base with this year’s WrestleMania.

I imagine Triple H vs Shane McMahon is somewhere on the Wrestlemania cards down the road, if not that, then maybe a Summerslam or Survivor Series. Story-wise, there's no real need for them to face each other as they haven't had any real interaction.
