Discuss Raw

Hey,

Not to be provocative, but there seem to be some interesting stats showing IMDB's site traffic declining in the last week.

For me personally, most of my time on IMDB or in the IMDB app, was spent on the forums. I do occasionally research movies, shows, actors, directors, etc. But over the last few years, IMDB has been primarily a discussion forum for me.

Anyway, check out the link below if you're interested, the worm shows a steep drop in traffic over the last week or so.

I'm not surprised. I have little use for IMDB now as I generally seek the opinion of others or wanted to engage in discussion about a particular subject. The Movie DB is still building itself bit by bit and they already provided us with an ignore function so we wouldn't have to tolerate any trolls and that was within one day of the migration.

It's taking a while for me to get into the 'feel' of the place and the other discussion forums but overall, it's given me a place to come and talk about movies and wrestling which is all that I really want anyway.

I never even used to watch the trailers on IMDB because they'd take too long to load so I'd just end up watching them on youtube anyway.

Yeah doesn't surprise me. I'm liking this site though, I'm going back and forth with this and the IMDB2 site until I figure out which I prefer and which has more people on to discuss things with. I find this site more aesthetically pleasing though.

Yep, I can't remember the last time a video loaded properly on the IMDB android app, usually freezes within 20 seconds. Hopefully a fully featured TMDB app is in the pipeline.

I deleted my account there as a result of their decision, and I'm not ever going to visit the site again. I'm hoping they have a decrease in activity and users as a result of what they did.

There's no reason for me to ever go back on there. It was all about the boards for me. If I need actor info or anything like that I'll come here

I have yet to return and have went to other places to check on info for movies. I am upset that they got rid of the forums at IMDb but I'm more upset that I tried to come on a day before the close to say one last goodbye and they closed them already. Thanks for giving us a date and the giving us a big middle finger and close them early.

Yeah I had sent a few people private messages saying goodbye. They never even had the chance to respond

@Enickma That's actually a good idea, not sure why I didn't delete it. Like others, I tried to sign on before closure, they closed the damn board at 9 pm or something like that? I hope they do lose site traffic. Their bizarre excuse for shutting the boards down should cost them.
