That was a pretty good event considering Smackdown is supposed to be the B grade show.
That fall that Styles did, I thought he was done for.
The Jinder/Orton match was well paced and I thought it delivered. The New Day/Usos match was also pretty good, the only thing I hated was the way the women's Money In The Bank match ended.
Can't believe that they went with Corbin, but...hey.

Jinder vs Orton was fucking awful. It was slow and painfully basic. The Bollywood Boys bumping like bosses was the only highlight. They should wrestle Jinder's matches for him. Hulk Hogan had more dynamic offense than Jinder, and with a lot more energy. Maybe if this were the very first match of new trainees, it would be excellent. But as a world title match on a PPV, it was beyond pathetic and underwhelming. By far the worst world title match of the year so far.
The tag match was excellent, until the end. The crowd died half way through the count out. In fact that's pretty much the story of the night. Fuck finishes that plunged a knife into the enthusiasm of the fans. Especially the Women's Money in the Bank match. The men's Money in the Bank ladder match was excellent.
But Smackdown is going downhill fast. The writing has become almost as bad as Raw's. This and Backlash were not great shows. it's the first time in years my interest in the main WWE product is actively dying.

I have to admit, I haven't watched any Raw or Smackdown episodes since the post Wrestlemania show. I just don't have enough time to invest in it although I wish I paid a little more attention considering I'm turning into a pretty big AJ Styles man + you have Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, Nakamura etc.
As for the Jinder/Orton match, I felt it was a slow burn - a little too much exactly like their previous encounter but I didn't mind the slow pace. Surprised to hear your reaction to it but each to their own, it's not exactly something that I would run out to watch again but for what it was I didn't mind it. I suppose that's also me not watching any kind of wrestling in a while...There's been a lot of backlash against the match.
But that "bump" Styles did, OMG moment of the year for me - that and nearly anything that Kevin Owens also did during the match.
I'm curious to see what Shane & Daniel are going to do about the Women's MITB finish. That was probably the lowest point of the pay per view, it was supposed to be this landmark occasion and basically ended with a Santina finish.

I thought there were some really good matches with again and again some really stupid endings.
The womens MITB match, after all of the hype they had done in building up how historic it was... they could not have ended it worse. This was worse than 'Santina'. It made zero sense.
The tag title match was amazing (I hated the Uso's so much when they were babyfaces, but their heel turn has turned them into pure gold) and once again derailed by an even worse ending. To one finish like this is one thing but to do two of them back to back? Madness.
Naomi and Lana was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting, but what the hell was the point of beating Lana clean? Bring her back after all this hype just to bury her? Nice one.
There was nothing wrong with the finish of the world title match, and the match in general was definitely a big improvement on their previous effort, but it was the exact same finish! They literally couldn't come up with a single other option?
Having Breezango's attackers be The Ascension was the probably the most absolutely lame reveal in the WWE's recent history of lame reveals, and if it was an attempt to build them up and give them a new lease of life... Having them lose in 3 minutes was probably not the way to go. Still, Breeze and Fandango are awesome, and I'm glad they're finally getting a legit chance. Southpaw Regional Wrestling is surely to thank.
Main event was awesome. Nothing else to say about it. It's not hard to do in a multiple man ladder match, especially one with workers as good as everyone in this match except the guy that won it, but it was really great. I think they even topped the excellent 5 way from Extreme Rules. The two of them are probably the main rosters 2 best matches of the year.
So overall it really probably was overall the best show that they've done this year given the main event, and the first two matches, but bad endings kind of held it back from being truly great.
