Well, that's one solution-move him away from the problem people.
Him and Nigel will be gold.

Good for him.
Though this does further my interest in the backstage environment in the WWE.
If he's back in the WWE but under the NXT umbrella I can only presume that it was Triple H that made this happen as he realises Mauro would could possibly help him legitimise NXT further and possibly as something different than the WWE. I heard Triple H gets very protective over 'his' people in NXT despite them coming in from somewhere else. I assume Triple H, Michael Cole and William Regal are more wrestling show orientated and don't care much for all of the backstage melodrama that Vince seems to like?
Could be several things though, Vince wants the commentator of the biggest fight of the century working for him. They didn't come to an agreement on his contract and he still needs to fulfil a certain amount of dates etc.

Part of me wonders how much of this is tied to Mauro no longer having to have Vince in his ear anymore. I remember Mick Foley quit his job as SD commentator after like a month or something because he didn't want to deal with being screamed at over the headset every show. Of course I don't know for sure but I imagine Hunter rarely, if ever, does that.

I hadn't considered that. Especially with reports that Vince wanted him to be more like Michael Cole.
