Discuss The Blacklist

I am watching Season 6 - General Shiro - and Red is still in prison - and I am bored with it. It is reminiscent of the kidnapping of Krystal in Dynasty in the eighties - it just went on and on and on until it became a joke. Now we have a supporting actor (character name Glen Carter) in a long and pointless jury selection process - which was basically a comedy sketch between him and Red. It usually signals the end of a series when minor characters are given a central role or the stars of the show start producing it. I will be sorry to see it end - but I think the mystery of Red and Elizabeth has been too long drawn out now.

The "prison season" was the worst one of the show. I thought that it might kill the ratings and thus the show. Thankfully things improved quite a bit after Red saved the life of the President's advisor and got his immunity agreement put back in place.

I just erased a long paragraph because I realized I had gotten ahead of you in the show. I can tell you that the second half of the season is much more interesting though. One of the big questions which Lizzie has been asking the entire show is finally answered.

Thank the Lord for that - maybe she will lose that tortured expression finally - I still hope Red shoots her though !!!

Well, I wasn't very specific about it, and Liz has had a lot of questions. What I was thinking of was her recent question about "who is this person who assumed the identity of Raymond Reddington?"

I don't want to spoil the surprise for those yet to watch the rest of season 6 so I won't say what Lizzie learned here and now. But in episode 19 Rassvet, Lizzie learns who her grandfather is and he tells her the answer.

At the end of season six, I'm still not sure if she got the real answer.

I think it was a syringe, not a knife. But your point about those women is well taken.

Lizzie did learn the identity and backstory of the man, but Red doesn't want to talk to her about it. I think he is fearful that Lizzie is now in more danger from the Russians after Ressler sparked their attention to her again with his inquiries about Katarina. It they think she may be alive, then that may put Liz in danger. So Red wants to keep it a dead subject.

But LIz wants to talk about what his life was like before, what her mother was like, how he "feels" about it all, etc. blah, blah, blah. She just learned his name and where he came from and his relationship to her mom and all that, and she wants to talk about it. You know, women can talk way more than men, and way more than men can listen.

And if Red's identity becomes known to the Russians, they would likely try to have him killed as a traitor. So he would like to just drop the subject.

Yeah, in the first couple seasons Red didn't have so much trouble with people as more recently. Not sure why, but he has lost some of his charm I suppose.

Correct. You can clearly see her holding it in her right hand.

Season 7 episode 2: Aram showed some stones this episode. I am glad they finally showed him showing some skills with a firearm.
