Heston encounters novelist Ed, who is detested by his fellow villagers for parodying them in his successful books - but will he bow under pressure?

Daniel comes to the aid of a patient who has been sacked for bringing drugs into the workplace. Daniel believes he is clean and sets out to help him prove it. Jimmi challenges Al to get fit. Meanwhile, Karen is on tenterhooks as she and Rob prepare to welcome their first foster child, and Mrs Tembe has a proposal for Valerie.

Zara is consulted by a student whose boyfriend has lost interest in sex. It looks like he is having an affair, but is there more to this case than meets the eye? A triumphant Valerie returns to the Mill. Meanwhile, Al takes up a new sport and Karen and Rob struggle to adapt to life with Hannah.

Ayesha becomes concerned about a young autistic man who is moving into a group home. Is the move in his best interests, or is he being pushed by his big brother? It is Hannah's last day, and Karen is determined to get through to her. Sid sees one of his favourite patients, Mrs Robinson, and is faced with a major challenge.

Valerie gets a visit from an old friend and receives a tempting offer. Emma throws caution to the wind and spends some serious money. Sid has another challenge to face when Mrs Robinson's grieving son comes to the surgery, looking for answers.

Jimmi tries to help the victim of a violent attack. She claims to have seen her attacker again, but is her mind playing tricks on her? Sid is doubting himself again, and he receives support from an unexpected source. A routine staff meeting offers a challenge to Al and gives Mrs Tembe an idea for a fresh initiative.

When a young married couple learn that their unborn baby may have a birth defect, a rift develops between them. Can Ruhma help them to stop apportioning blame and face the future together?

There is trouble ahead for Mrs Tembe when she announces her latest initiative. Elsewhere, Ayesha is exposed to racism, and Heston is troubled when a suspected case of sleepwalking throws up some very bizarre symptoms.

Mrs Tembe learns that you can't always have your cake and eat it. Elsewhere, Emma tells Ayesha to make a decision, and Karen is shocked when an old friend victimises someone for their religious choices. But can she alter their views?

Ayesha has a first date, but is romance on the menu? Elsewhere, Heston fails to spice things up with Ruhma, and Al's trip to Bristol to see an old friend also turns out to be a recipe for disaster as some bitter truths are exposed.

Sugar withdrawal kicks in and Zara plays dirty to make Daniel fail. Ayesha's after a different kind of fix altogether.

Karen has to deal with Barney on her own when he first arrives. Sid returns from his holiday, only for his anxiety to immediately return.

Mrs Tembe has to get to the bottom of a mystery when a baby is found abandoned in the toilets at The Mill.

Mrs Tembe tasks Jimmi with finding someone to attend a course on sexism, while Sid keeps putting his foot in it.

Ayesha deals with an elderly couple who have unhealthy lifestyles.

Rob investigates a break-in and is shocked to discover who the perpetrator is. Ayesha and Sid try to help Emma to decide what to do with her new car. Valerie has to deal with a needy ex-colleague who appears to be stuck in a downward spiral.

Rob brings Barney to see Jimmi to discuss his solvent abuse. Ayesha gets a visit from her cousin, who is worried about her drinking. A man's sudden, complete loss of short-term memory puts his casual lover in an impossible situation.

Rob manufactures a lunch so that Tyler and Ayesha meet. Jimmi visits Barney again. When Heston's retired friend is surprised by a figure from his past, Heston has to help him find out if he is really the man he thinks he is.

Zara bets Daniel that he can't get through a gender, equality and diversity workshop without resorting to male stereotype. Al visits his GP with a spring in his step.

Daniel and Zara argue over whether or not she should become a school governor. Karen plans Halloween, while Jimmi has things on his mind. Emma has to step into a dispute between a father and son over the son's wishes.

Daniel has a struggle to find a Halloween costume that Joe wants. Karen throws a Halloween party for Barney, but will he enjoy it? Heston has to uncover a secret when a friend of his is told by a witch that he will die.

Daniel can't believe it when pictures of his Halloween outfit emerge, while Jimmi tries to open up to Al. Sid has to mediate between a couple who have very different ideas about dealing with a severe illness.

Jimmi attends the Vita Course, but will he be convinced that he has made the right decision to go? Emma has a night in with Ayesha and Sid. When there is a break-in at the local church community centre, Rob has to untangle a complicated situation.

At a staff meeting, 'sexual consent packs' are discussed. Al manages to put his foot in it with Jimmi again. Valerie has to deal with two young people whose views on sexual equality are somewhat different.

Daniel and Zara get into trouble on a visit to the local park, while Ayesha ends up on a double date after Tyler gatecrashes. Ruhma has a patient who has miscarried multiple times and thinks she is pregnant again. Can Ruhma deliver happy news this time?

Zara and Daniel's liaison is front page news, and their colleagues run riot with the gossip. However, the fun is short-lived after Zara is victim to a depraved patient's actions. Journalist Harriet is trying to kick-start her life, starting with her career. But writing a hack article on Daniel is not what she had in mind.

Zara gets some news which takes the wind right out of her sails, while Tyler offers to show Ayesha his hidden depths. An elderly patient has disappeared in the middle of the night and then refused to reveal where he has been. The man's son is convinced he has memory problems and recruits Heston to solve the mystery.

Jimmi does a good job of reassuring Sid about his patients' deaths, only to witness Al calling Sid by a particularly insensitive nickname. Meanwhile, Ayesha's date with Tyler turns into an episode of Crimewatch. Mrs Tembe becomes a Cyrano de Bergerac for a desperate, lonely friend at the church.

Sid tries out the Dr Haskey method of 'detachment', but as a result ends up putting a young child's life at risk. Rob needs to question an elderly man on his mobility scooter, but he has to catch up with him first.

Ruhma tries to convince Sid not to leave medicine while they anxiously await news on a patient. Meanwhile, Zara asks Emma for advice on parenting. Al is stuck between two neighbours each trying to convince him the other is mentally unwell, but matters take a dark turn and Al is put in grave danger.

Valerie struggles to confide in her colleagues after a humiliating and violating experience. Meanwhile Sid considers how he can continue as a GP. Emma encounters a man newly-released from prison who has to decide between what is best for himself or best for his victim's family.

When Daniel gets wind of a glamorous model dating a client at his Botox clinic, he sets out to track her down. Rob is determined to see justice done, but Valerie has her own ideas.

Zara shifts her focus to Emma, and Valerie has her hospital appointment. Mrs Tembe continues to plan Valerie's party and prays they will have something to celebrate, but Al is determined to be a party pooper.

There is trouble in paradise for Ayesha. Elsewhere, a passing comment gives Zara an idea and leaves Daniel speechless. Ruhma visits an old friend, and some very old secrets come to light. But things are way more sinister than Ruhma thinks.

Jimmi gets a rude awakening at his residential course. Zara's attempts to sweet talk Heston backfire. A terrible crime committed 44 years ago is finally solved, but Ruhma discovers it brings no closure for anyone.

It is the day of the final rehearsal, and Heston has some comments to make on everyone's performances...

The fallout from the final rehearsal continues, as Mrs Tembe attempts to create a positive work atmosphere, and Al finds something he'd rather he hadn't on the internet. After a patient requests a fit-to-work note, Sid starts to wonder if he was right to sign it.

As final preparations for the performance take place, Rob worries about Adam. Barry investigates when a student reports receiving odd letters containing money.

Scrooge grumbles about Christmas, but will visits from some spectres convince him that it is actually a good thing?

Karen and Adam visit his mum in hospital before her operation, while Tyler is frustrated by an unwanted guest.

Ayesha has to deal with a potential drunk after her friend ropes her in to help.
