Season 1 and season 6 contains 2 parts for the episodes while seasons 2, 3, 4 and 5 only have one part for each episode. Either stick with one part for all seasons like IMDB or have it 2 parts like TVDB. Pick one or the other. It should not be both.

I invite you to read this previous content report.
We are going as per the original broadcast.

Not to make it difficult, but app like Kodi has trouble scanning the episodes but also issue with pulling down the seasons poster. Can't we have some sort of alternate seasons definition to stick with either one part per episode or 2 parts. Just odd, I have not seen any other TV series that changes over seasons.

You can eventually try to create an episode group, but downloading the posters have nothing to do with the episodes list.

Trying to create an episode group does not work well since I can only add the episodes that are already defined. How do I go about adding other episode numbering into my group?

For the episodes in one part, you add the complete episode. For the episodes in 2 parts, you add only the first part.

Not sure about your instructions. I create a new Episode Group which then I create Season 1 and I added the 4 episodes 1x1, 1x2, 1x3 and 1x4 (episode1 part 1&2 and episode2 part 1&2) found in Season 1. I then created Season 2 but I can only see 2 episodes (2x1 and 2x2) to add? Where are the other 2 episodes? I expect to be able to add whatever episodes I want, namely 2x1, 2x2, 2x3 and 2x4. Where do I go about doing this?

This way, you have a single part for each episode.
The other way round is not possible.
I have fixed the episode group for you.

Saw you edit. Thank you. It is still quirky but it works somewhat. Kodi 21 only detects if I have the episode as se01e03 and s01e03 to pick up the two season 1 episodes, similarly for season 6. But Kodi 20 only able to detect s01e01, s06e01 and not the second episodes of the season. Would it not consider the 2 episodes to be s01e01 and s01e02 and so on forth?

You need to create a parsing NFO file for Kodi so it know that it should use an episode group.

I have already done that. Seems Kodi v21 works but v20 does not seem to be work as well.

Did you select the correct TMDB scraper ? This only works with the Python version.

yes it is TMDB and it is only Python 3 now. If this was not correctly set, it will not pick up the show to begin with.

Also for this particular show, something is not correct because it could only pick up the poster for season 1. The other seasons and also the main poster was not grab. I have not experience this with any of my other shows.

Do not forget that you should completely remove the series from Kodi when you put the NFO files in it or when you change it.
For this, you will have to ask to the support forum of Kodi.
