Discuss Doctor Who

I prefer Classic and one reason is the 4 part series, I really enjoyed the cliff hangers, and the story lines that were not all special effects that are all the rage now. I don't mean the everyday kind, there has to be those, but explosions everywhere all the time

They're both great in different ways. They both have pros and cons. I like to look at them together as one big show.

and that's a good thing, I love when new remembers an event frrm classic to solve a problem

I like the serialised format, but it was ancient by 1989 so it would have changed anyway. I do wish they had eperimented more with 1 and 2 parters though. There's a fan edit that edits down suvival to half an hour, it works really well.

the 2 or more parters are my favorites, I would not want to shorten any of them , the River Song bits are the best

I prefer the pacing and format of the classic series. The new format can work well with self contained stories like Blink but generally I find the final 1/3 quite rushed. It seems that there is a movement back to slower pace, slow burn stories with the recent big TV shows like GOT, Westworld, Stranger Things. I hope Doctor Who follows this, moving to stories over multiple episodes.
