Probably the most ridiculous holodeck episode of any of the shows. It might be possible to fake distance objects etc to someone in the middle of a holodeck space, but no real objects - including people - could possibly be farther apart than the holodeck walls. And yet in this episode the whole baseball field, with people spread all around, is supposedly in one of those little holodeck rooms that Quark has.
Ridiculous.

I caught the end of that episode. DS9 wasn't my fav of the franchise (that would be the one that follows DS9). I'm watching the second episode (Voyager) of the first season right now.

Ridiculous but fun. Ferengis playing baseball. No less ridiculous than when Voyager had a war going on in one of them. Only the biggest and best holosuites for old Ben Sisko.

Well Voyager was pretty bad from start to finish. So a few extra-bad holodeck episodes don't make much of an impression. But so much of DS9 was so good, including the episodes just before and after that/this one, that it really sticks out for me.
(That's what SHE said!)

I thought that season one Move Along Home was pretty weird.

It still isn't that awkward as having the main cast doing children's games accompanied with children's rhymes that is one of the worst DS9 episodes.
