A mysterious new villain called Trident appears and starts stealing nuclear waste from ships. The Titans go to investigate and meet a new hero, Aqualad. This new hero causes Beast Boy to become very competitive.

Cyborg has a final showdown with Brother Blood, and a new branch of the Titans team is created. Titans East is a different tower in a new city with five new members: Aqualad, Bumblebee, Speedy and a pair of high-speed twins known as Mas Y Menos. Part one of a two-part episode.

With Titans dispatched across the globe, members of the HIVE FIVE figure they have it made. Unfortunately their city-wide crime spree is cut short when a new hero in town spoils the fun. Handing him over to the BROTHERHOOD OF EVIL may score the Hive Five points, but actually catching this lightning-fast do-gooder is much harder than it seems.
