Also, note that the current season/episode structure will be changed in the (near) future to the original Japanese order -> that's our plan:

1. Seasons 1 to 5 are actually all episodes of the "Original" series.
   
2. Seasons 6 to 9 are episodes of the second series "Advanced Generation ".
   
3. Seasons 10 to 13 are episodes of the third series "Diamond & Pearl".
   
4. Seasons 14 to 16 are part of the fourth series "Best Wishes!".
   
5. Seasons 17 and 18 should be merged to form the fifth season "XY".
   
6. Season 19 does not need to be merged, but it should be the sixth season.
   
7. Seasons 20 and 21 are both part of the last series "Sun & Moon".
   

When exactly this merge will happen, we don't know, yet.

Is that really the best course of action? With all the re-edits, re-writing, missing episodes, etc., perhaps there should be two entries: one ("Pokémon") for the worldwide version, and a separate one ("Pocket Monsters") for the original Japanese version. Just like "The Return of Godzilla" and "Godzilla 1985."

Your example (Godzilla) is one of the rare Travis-approved exceptions to our 'no alternate version' rule:

According to our rule, duplicate entries for alternate episode splits are not allowed -> except Travis approves of it.

I don't know "Pokémon"/"Pocket Monsters" at all, and I don't know how much the worldwide version differs from the original Japanese broadcast? This is something another moderator has to look at. And, eventually, Travis.
