I find it interesting that Carrie C. plays a character (Nora) on The Leftovers where the computers would not work for her...
...and on Fargo she plays the role of Gloria, who also has computer problems ; cell phones don't work well for her, automatic doors never open for her and she doesn't like computers- they're all still in the boxes ( assume it's because they won't work for her either).

Hi
Invidia
Funny you should mention that -for the first time I just watched The Twin Peaks movie last night and I thought that guy looked familiar -like I had seen him on something recently.
Did you like Twin Peaks series? I have been debating on watching the past episodes On Demand , but thought I should watch the old movie first since they said it was a prequel?, and because they have a new Twin Peaks movie premiering May 21 on Showtime. I have been debating because David Lynch 's weirdness, for example The Naked Lunch is kinda too weird /off kilter/confusing to me.

I am SO sorry- that was David Cronenberg- NOT Lynch.
oh, I was thinking it was a movie, I think I will be watching and also the past episodes now that I know I had David's confused- and I know just who to ask when I have questions
Thank you

I am glad to hear that. I watched TP: Fire Walk With Me again ( I realized I had
on some parts) and I am going to binge watch TP season 2 this weekend.
Yes I did see that. Kyle MacLachlan, I have been a fan ever since I saw Dune and The Hidden.
That probably contributed also.
I think he will. He also has a recurring role as the neighbor Marvin on the ABC comedy Fresh Off The Boat .

The reason why has me in suspense- and they had better have a reason why- on both shows.
OMG- : yuck: I don't remember his name on the show-but your description is wayy better than a name.
I think they do, having the same actress with the same oddness on two different series -something that unusual can't be coincidence.

Now that I think of it...I would not be surprised at all if Fargo doesn't even have/give a reason - that they were only doing it to copy Carrie's character on LO - just to mess with our heads. (if true, remember I said it first)
I do believe they will have a valid reason/reveal for Nora's affliction on LO.

I was just talking to @Kathy/The Bridge over in the "Lorne Malvo one of The Greatest All Time TV Characters" thread and she reminded me that season 2 of Fargo had that underlying UFO element! - maybe Gloria had some sort of a UFO experience/abduction? That would explain it.

YAY!
Showtime is having a TP marathon again(started yesterday) and even though I just watched it a few weeks ago- I can't help but watch again.
Yes.
Yes and yes.
Yes, yes.
Watching so many series, and 2 with the same actress, sometimes it is hard to keep things straight
.

No.
I would not have HBO or Showtime if I wasn't offered it for free trial- then a package deal.
OK, I haven't watched it yet. Last night I was busy watching and re-watching The Leftovers.

Just found this thread as I was looking for anyone else talking about similarities between Fargo and LO. The issue with Gloria and Nora vs computers is just one of a few that I've noticed in the last few weeks, and there are now surely too many for this to be coincidence.
1) Nora and Gloria both go on investigative trips via airplane, with the whole episodes centered around them. 2) They both have trouble with computers/mechanical devices 3) Both have also recently investigated the circumstances surrounding the death of a man with a caved-in head. Gloria says the words 'not a pretty picture', Nora creates a blown up version of 'not a pretty picture' 3) Theroux plays twin brothers in latest LO episode, McGregor plays twins in Fargo 4) Finally, and this is a big one, listen to the score at the end of Fargo S3 Ep6, from the moment Gloria says 'screw it'. Then, listen to the music in these two scenes from LO if you can find them - final scene of S1 Ep9, just in the very moments before the departure...and final scene of S3 Ep1, just as Nora says 'no'. Tell me this is a coincedence??

This season seems like it's turning into a collection of callbacks to Hawley's favorite shows. We've seen references to the work of Damon Lindelof, Vince Gilligan and David Lynch. I hope that's not the only thing he's giving us, but it's looking grim. One more show to find out if anything ties together even a little bit.
