In all honesty, if the first two seasons were 10s out of 10, this one was a 7. Not BAD, per se, but it was undoubtedly the most uneven, and had the worst characters thus far. The finale was fine. It was all just fine.
The premiere, the LA episode and the bowling alley episode were all pretty great, but this story played frequently on dumb luck, dumb characters, and logical flaws, and not even THOSE episodes are perfect.
There's still the mystery with the framed stamp posters in Emmit's office and the fake moustache. Also when Emmit woke up in his house after being knocked out, he had a stamp on his forehead (I thought this one to be overkill to be honest). Any ideas? A Rabbi and a kitten on a clandestine mission hanging pictures..?

Now that would have been fun! It would've been nonsense with kittens and Rabbis, but entertaining nonsense, lol.
I have no idea, they did not give me enough scenes with him to really conclude what was REALLY going on with him. That's why I said they should have EXPANDED on that more- made MORE of that storyline with him.
Perhaps he came back again as himself instead of as a KITTEN like RAY did so he could also help others with their troubles as well?
That's why I said they should have EXPANDED on that more- made MORE of that storyline with him.
They DID NOT make use of him ENOUGH.
Still don't understand the BOX with the HAND that turns it off though???
Me either. MAYBE it's one of those "open doors".
OPEN DOORS???
@Jana said this: "This is becoming a trend, to produce shows that leaves the viewers clueless just because the creators wants to be avantgarde and artistic. There's nothing wrong with that, but sometimes they just need to shut a few doors for closure."
To which I replied this: "No nothing wrong with it, but maybe they shouldn't always open so many doors in the first place when they know they aren't going to bring anything at all through them.
I felt like the producers/writers everyone said, 'hey, lets all go home right now' and just left. It's like they forgot what they were doing in the middle of it and just gave up.
What did NIKKI do that got her arrested before she met RAY?
I don't remember.
In other words, there's NO PHOTO of RAY there on the FRIDGE,
Yes, I noticed that right off.
And EMMIT also seemed PLEASED about it,
Yes he did.
maybe because RAY also reminded him of what he would be if it weren't for STEALING his father's money? Thus also a reminder that he wasn't really a SELF MADE MAN who made his own way in the world? Like TRUMP also pretends to be a SELF MADE BIG SHOT when it's also the MONEY of his father that got him started on the pathway he's on now?
True.
Maybe, but RAY and NIKKI also seemed to be GENUINE in their LOVE for one another and the least GREEDY EMMIT could do for RAY was buy an ENGAGEMENT RING.
True, and I thought that Emmit has NEVER really liked Ray anyways.
YES, and the way he also SHOOTS RAY because of his devotion to NIKKI and what she did for him.
Truth. Nikki and the deaf guy had a closer bond in their short time together than Ray and Emmit had their whole lives together.
when they did the same kind of thing in THE LEFTOVERS ...
and they also LEFT OPEN too many DOORS that needed SHUTTING ...
didn't you also seem to DEFEND their right to do so???
Or was that another different poster???
NO, that was not ME. I would NEVER defend that crock o'
I was one who said I knew THE LEFTOVERS would NOT ONLY leave questions unanswered (open doors)-but would END opening up even more doors (NEW QUESTIONS unanswered)-which they did.
Whatever the case may be, the WRITERS also displayed their GUILT about having done so, by speaking about what they'd done in interviews, where they tried to WARN others not to get upset with them for having done so.
Have the WRITERS/PRODUCERS of this show also done the same thing and tried to defend themselves in interviews they've done about this show?

I think Kathy? mentioned something about that.
Nope, it wasn't me. But I mentioned that someone told me there was a rumor about scenes that were edited out. I've googled and can't find anything of the sort. I did read something in the NY Times where one of the lesser-known producers of Fargo said that he loved the finale because it was "of the moment". Really? They gave us Varga salivating over his business take over again, and again and then again. They kept hitting us over the head with it. We got it, he's bad. And then the finale gave us nothing but maybe he got locked up and maybe he didn't. It's a personal choice of the viewer as to what you want to believe. Enough with your artsy-fartsy Schrodinger's cat and philosophies Fargo, give us something entertaining, that's all. If you can't do both, I can get some economic texts and polish up on my Camus without you.
Hey Invidia and Scorp, I saw you commenting on The Leftovers. I didn't see it, but was gonna check it out. Now I'm getting the idea that maybe it's another waste of time. Was it that annoying?

Yes , it's as if they ALL said" Let's get up and walk out at this moment ."

Making us SUFFER through his bloody gum picking, vomiting antics...just to end up staring at a darkened room...

I don't want to spoil anything for you...
But you should watch and form your own opinion- you may feel different and love it.
Yes Scorp, I think I will watch it and see what the talk is all about, thanks. It seems as if it has characters that people can get invested in. Invidia, I loved your posts and summation of why you thought it ended as it did. I thought you made your case and will be interested to see it. Thanks both! Oh, and I am still rolling from everyone's posts about Fargo! I haven't had this much fun reading posts in a long time.
Not me unless I had a blackout that day or a moment of temporary insanity. I throw a fit when things are left too open in movies and shows because even if I like to think of myself as something of a philosopher, I expect to be entertained by others, not to be left doing the hard work myself. That's just lazy writing. Sure it's fun coming here to talk about it but you can't help but wonder what the writer's initial vision was. It's the same thing with shows that are cancelled, that's just infuriating. A show you've grown to love, a cliffhanger that makes you lose sleep and then it gets the axe. What happened to Wolfgang? Now I will never know 😔
That scene with Kevin looked like he didn't even know he was president of the US. What was that? Is Hotel Land for real or do they not address it? I'm sure Twin Peaks is fun, I remember the original. The only way I can get it is to buy an app from Amazon Prime for Showtime and I've read that the hook-up is poor or doesn't work at all. I may wait til the season is over and purchase it then.
Sorry Invidia, I tried but shot to shot is too difficult. They keep yapping and it takes too long to get to the next shot. I like the weirdness of Lynch's off-kilter scenes. And when he does something comedic it's better to see it first hand. Maybe I'll try the app.
Invidia asked, "Have the WRITERS/PRODUCERS of this show also done the same thing and tried to defend themselves in interviews they've done about this show?"
I had incorrectly thought you or Kathy had said something about this-
so very SORRY

I agree totally with this, I can use my own imagination, but just don't throw in characters and situations (that they make you believe are important) without expanding and following through with them.

Thanks much Invidia, but I have to know! What's her story after that? I thought I heard her yell "Yes!" as she was submerged.
