Discuss Marvel's Iron Fist

How do you feel about the characters? Likes, dislikes? General thoughts?

Was anyone else annoyed they made them a couple? I wasn't surprised, just annoyed that they did it. I've been reading the comics since I was 10 yrs.old but i don't really remember them being an item. I could be wrong. But I don't remember that ever happening. Last I read Misty Knight and Danny Rand were married with a kid in the comics...

I'm curious to know what everyone else thinks about the two lead characters.

I liked them and their relationship. Don't like Misty.

Curious, what didn't you like about Misty? I didn't like how she didn't have a real fist fight in the show. But her personality didn't bother me. I wanted more from the writers. Simone missick did great as far as acting goes though.

Didn't like her actions with Luke. Didn't buy her emotional reaction to her partner turning traitor and dying. I also found her just plain boring.

I agree with most of that. I hate that they made comments or alluded to Misty being a badass but they never SHOW YOU, they just TELL YOU. I wanted so much more of a story for her... thanks.

I didn't like Misty either, because she was NOTHING like how she was in the comics. And that was disappointing.

Colleen was much more likable as a character for me.

That being said, Danny belongs with Misty.

But Colleen's so, so, so much hotter.

Now that I finally seen the series, I have to say I didn't like the coupling of Danny and Colleen. I didn't really buy their so-called love story and didn't think the actors had chemistry. That being said I could tolerate Danny and Colleen over Matt and Karen which I absolutely thought was a worse coupling.

The whole Colleen and Danny thing didn't feel authentic especially when it was revealed that she was apart of a version of the Hand. Also, Colleen started out as independent and strong and over the course of the episodes, I felt she was diminished into being Danny's cheerleader and her purpose just turned into Danny's purpose. Clare was on Danny's side too, but I felt she stayed true to her original character throughout all 4 shows. She kept it real with Danny and just didn't have no choice but to follow Danny and Colleen because they didn't listen to her advice.

What I really didn't like is when Danny took Colleen back to the Cum Lau(sp). Danny was talking about explaining himself to the monks, but did he really think the monks were gonna forgive him without punishment and they would be ok with him bringing an outsider? Overall, Colleen and Danny should have stayed friends and that's it.

I agree 100% about Colleen and Danny. There was no chemistry. And she was strong and independent and then suddenly she was reduced to "Danny's girlfriend that can fight too". And why the hell would colleen sleep with him so easily after he told her he took vow of chastity? The writing for their relationship was sloppy and unbelievable. I felt no emotion or connection. Plus, all this talk about Canon and keeping the character the way he was in the comic- when the F did Iron Fist and Colleen EVER date?!
