Discuss Marvel's Iron Fist

I watched him on Banshee and he was much better in his role as a neo-nazi turned police officer but his performance as Ward Meachum is cringeworthy.

What's cringeworthy about it?

I disagree. I think he did all he could and more with the material given. He was one of the few convincing things in the show.

Yes. I agree with this, Froberg. There's plenty to criticize about this show, but Pelphrey isn't one of them.

Most of his scenes he acts like a petulant kid, and the scene where he took the drug OMG, such horrible acting.

I thought he demonstrated clearly all the years of abuse he had suffered, his pain was believable, as was his addiction.

But that's kind of the point of the character. He's a grown man who is being treated like a kid--controlled, literally watched, manipulated. That he shows petulance seems perfectly appropriate.

and the scene where he took the drug OMG, such horrible acting.

I don't see any horrible acting there. Quite the opposite, in fact. As Froberg says, believable is a better description of his performance there.

We are in complete agreement, you and I.

Epi 13 " Dad...I didn't even know that was there"

Errr...Could you be a bit more specific?

The scene where harold opens the safe behind the picture. Go back and watch that scene again...awful acting .

Okay. But can you be more specific about what's awful about it?

This seems like senseless trolling at this point.

Ward was the single best thing in the show. A complex, interesting character. The rest of the show was pure garbage other than some micro-moments in a few fights.

oh, i completely disagree. ward was the best character in the show, the most fleshed out, and very believably acted by pelphrey who delivered all of his lines with aplomb and conviction. i found this show quite boring at times and without tom pelphrey, it would have been unbearable.

To each their own but he acted too tom foolery for my liking...sorry for the close pun.
