Misty Knight rant

OK if my profile pic doesn't give it away I'm a HUGE Misty Knight fan and have been since childhood.
That being said wtf is up with Misty being this annoying character that just gets in the Heroes way? Why the hell hasn't she had a single fight scene? Colleen and Misty are the Daughters Of The Dragon for Christ sake. Why the hell havent we seen her drop some Baddies on their asses yet? Why hasn't she showed off her impressive fighting skills yet? I feel like Misty is getting screwed in these Netflix shows. They take everything that makes her character awesome and unique and make her a basic Cop cliché.
I like Colleen Wing's character but it drives me nuts that she is dating Iron Fist. Misty and Danny have been on again, off again forever, until they eventually get married and have a kid that they name after Luke Cage. They had a complicated yet sweet relationship that would've been great on TV. But instead we get a weak Misty that can't fight unless she has a gun in her hand and likes to get in the Heroes way. Misty should be sexy but tough, the character was inspired by Pam Grier of the 70's! Nothing against the actress that plays her.
Misty just isn't getting the respect she deserves. End of rant.

I agree, Misty makes me sleepy. She seems half stoned most of the time. I think it's because she is a black character. A similar thing happened to Luke Cage, they completely neutered him because they were terrified of making him seem like an "angry black man". Take a look at the other black character who is a regular, Malcolm. He is quite feminized and has little that is likeable about him. He is just kind of lukewarm and bland. Colleen and Trish are fiery, which makes their characters engaging.

And I don't think Malcolm is effeminate at all either. He's kind of a hipster/ex junkie. I like his characters, he's a good balance of everything Jessica isn't.

Is Misty the incredibly annoying female cop with the ridiculous hair? I couldn't stop staring at her hair every time she was on camera... like what the actual fuck is on her head. It's shaved in the front, then it turns into this huge poof of hair that's 5 times larger than her head.
I imagine she has trouble fitting that hair through smaller doorways.

It's not even close to the size of her hair in the comics. If I was the type of person to demand comic accuracy I would say...pff needs to be bigger.

Wtf? Her hair isn't shaved in the front. It was braided like a headband in the front. And that's her natural hair, kinky and curly....smh.

Yes, we black folks have hair that large. I'm trying to glow mine out exactly like that. It does not look awful. It has personality, volume. Better that then having straight, limp and lifeless hair.
OP I agree. Misty deserves better and to be honest, although her and Danny is together in the comics, I don't like the actor and I hope they don't put her together with him in the future. I don't think finn can hold his own with simone.

not all black people are african american, and this black british woman can tell you that yes, black people do have hair that big.
getting back to OP's comment about misty. yes, she is a disappointment, and i also let down that she did not hook up with danny like she does in the comics. marvel need to get her off the police force, get her a bionic arm and set her and colleen up in nightwing restorations ASAP.
