I'm aware of the discussions to have options for the one season format vice the arc setup that we see right now, but my concern is that things will get confusing if we don't have them split up. If there isn't an option to have Anime numbering or some other selectable option when editing the pages then we will have duplicate episodes and the programs we use to load metadata to files will start getting confused as well.
note - I'm very overly laymen on purpose.

I have a suggestion. How about we go with the season/arc/cour numbering being whatever, while having the episode number be continuous? I'm not so hung up on the season as I am wanting the continuous numbering of the episodes. I saw someone did that in the Naruto show on the site and it seems to make sense and flows well. Hulu happened to number Naruto the same way which leads me to believe this may be the format the US is looking towards when bringing Japanese shows over to the US.
Your thoughts?

I like this duel format they have going here. It would be cool if on the server side they could link corresponding episodes once they branch. That way there is only one rating and all the stuff for the same episode no matter where it shows up. Use page ID numbers as the key like thegamesdb.net does. If that can be done then it could also be extended to movies that are also part of shows. Like Battle of the Gods, Resurrection 'F', or Stargate,.. So long as they are the same movie for both.

I'm not saying this is a bad idea, however, that requires modification to the API. There is a long list of things for them to do, and this is low on the priority. I'm just trying to focus on us using the build as it is to have it make some sense.

Any idea how to clean up this episodes mess?

I think they already implemented it. You just need to create groups now.

well, I guess the question is, where are the groups showing up.

Well I do know how to make groups and stuff (made some for the first Dragon Ball series), but I learned that groups don't make sense if we later change the season numbering... So I'd suggest we have one Season with all the episodes in absolute order and work with groups on that basis

The season numbering is a different group too.

Yes, this is the way to go for series with continuous episode numbers. The duplicate episodes are gone and I created a few episode groups. Please let me know if anything looks amiss.

You would have to ask the Trakt guy if and how they plan to use episode groups.

I think Trakt is based on tvdb grouping..
I was thinking about move from tvdb to tmdb as scraping service for my media center but I can't do it because of trakt..

Any movement on episode grouping? It would be really nice to have it broken down by saga, like we have for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. I'm happy to help out, I just need some guidance as I'm new to TheMovieDB.

There's already quite a few episode groups: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/62715-dragon-ball-chou/episode_groups

I was trying to find them at the episode level, not sure why I didn't even glance at the "Overview" menu... 🤦♂️ Thanks!
This might be the wrong place to ask but is there a way to get Kodi to organize by an episode group?
