Sarah, Did anyone like this chick? She was a piece of work even before she died, and she got REALLY psycho after that. She called the cops on Kate Willis, gave the plate of her motorbike, and said she was a possible burglar all because she was jealous of her and her husband James. I hate chicks who are devious like that, who can lie so easily and believably. And James Hayes, the cop she married after Kate died and widowed him, was such a pussy about her and everything else. I couldn't stand watching him break down into tears at the hospital talking to an unconscious Sarah after she gave birth. He cried way too much in this show. You would think he was on female hormones. Grow a pair pal. After Sarah died in childbirth and came back, she joined forces with Vic (who was also dead and risen) on his campaign to kill off all the other risen dead. Of course they exempted themselves from the campaign to rid the world of risen people. Both of them were devious, hypocritical, psycho assholes.

Watching season 1 again. On episode three now. I just watched the scene where Kirstie started needling 'John Doe' for being quiet and not offering an opinion.
"Nothing to say, Einstein. What a surprise!" The doctor says "Kirstie".
Then Kirstie started in again.
"No, seriously. What's he doing here? 'Cause we don't know anything about him, and he could have been a killer or anything." The doctor tries to shut her up "that's enough". John Doe gets up to leave. Kirstie jumps to her feet.
"No seriously. Say something. You never say a bloody word" she says as she walks up to him and puts her hand out and grabs his arm. John Doe immediately grabs her arm and tosses her behind himself.
At that point Charlie comes from behind John and shoves him against the wall, and John hits Charlie in the face.
Granted, John Doe over reacted to Kirstie by throwing her behind him, although it was Kirstie who initiated the physical assault. But he had been minding his own business, eating the food given him. Kirstie went a bit wild on him because he wasn't saying anything?
What does Kirstie really know about any of the others? What do they know about her, other than that she is a bitch?
Certainly John Doe is an emotionally raw, somewhat unstable fellow when placed under stress, but he wasn't aggressive toward them until he was attacked. And in fact, his first instinct when Kirstie went psycho was to try to leave, to de-escalate the situation. It was only when Kirstie saw him trying to leave and she attacked that he over reacted. But he didn't pursue her. He just got her off of him and was still facing away from her, posing no threat to her when Charlie attacked him from behind. Then he struck back.
That was when Maria grabbed him from behind. And John Doe spun around, and he realized that she was not attacking him, but seeking to intervene in his fight with Charlie, so he did nothing to her.
John Doe was unfairly put upon. He was attacked and then punished for successfully defending himself. In a weird twist, the aggressors in the conflict were exonerated, presumably because they lost. He was locked up, and none of the others were even reprimanded in the least.
