Not sure what was the BIG paradigm shift?

Fred Johnson scooping the remaining nukes was predictable, as was Rocinante crew wanting to destroy the last sample....but WTF was that creature at the end!!!

Why is James Holden always trying to be like "JON SNOW"? It just isn't working and is distracting?

Well, also, Naomi kind of betrayed Holden and the crew by not actually launching the sample, and working to help secure the missiles. That's a pretty big paradigm shift. And Chrisjen showed her hand and made it very clear to whassisname she knows exactly what he's up to and his involvement, and stopped playing the weak minion and started being the in charge lioness. And I guess the development of the sub-warp drive ;) was kind of a paradigm shift.

More of a SLIP than a SHIFT. In Season One, they try to portray ship travel as pretty much Newtonian Physics, conserve fuel, momentum, vectors, use celestial bodies as crutches for manuevers, etc. In Season Two....all of that is out the window, and now ships can bounce across the Sol System in an afternoon, anywhere from Venus to Saturn, regardless of where the planets are aligned, or if you want to go with or against an orbital path. Magic warp-drives for everyone! Seriously, why aren't there colonies on Pluto and a 100 ships on their way to other stars if ships can dart around so effortlessly...????

Yep. One thing I appreciated with SGU was periodic montage /alternate music combos. Gave me a chance to hear music never would listen to...gave a break from intense action and most important it was excellent at implying a undetermined time gap.

Some on said on the old site that the time gap is mentioned more in the books.

The BIG paradigm shift was the revelation that the proto-molecule is much closer to a sentient alien race than it is a strange spore-like substance which assembles itself into crystalline structures and psychically emulates the latent thoughts of its victims.

The molecule appears to only be a tool or sub-component of a malicious and observant invader that is bent on conquering our species by exploiting our own politics and inherent weaknesses.

It's my guess that the Epstein drive did more than make colonization of the outer belts possible. Epstein's proof of concept may have travelled to such a distance that it awoke a distant neighbor, stirred the hornet's nest and invited their wrath. But that's only my guess...

I wished that they would just tell everyone what happened on Eros. I guess they have a copy of Millers video stream. So it should be easy to prove. There will be a mission to Venus anyway. They should know that.

Only one episode a week is really hard ;)

Well.. we got the origin of the Epstein drive, which certainly qualifies, we saw that the humans aren't alone out there, some major plot twists or shifts or what you want to call them (Naomi in particular, putting the Belters ahead of common sense really, just because.. both in saving the protomolecule sample, and in helping to disable the safeties of the nukes), etc.

but we the audience already knew all these points....I was hoping Earth & Mars would be alerted to what the Belters had discovered.

Ganymede is a main source of food mainly for the Belt and some for Mars. It's a joint Matrian/Terran "Neutral Zone" since Scientists (mostly hydroponic botanists ) are from both Earth and Mars.

I am hoping Thomas Jane can somehow stay in the show. It appeared that his character Det. Josephus Miller bit the dust when he was apparently vaporized along with the weird blue stuff on that space station. However..... given that this is a sci fi series, and given that that blue stuff seems to have really weird properties and the ability to take over bodies, maybe the writers will bring his character back in an undead kind of way. He is a good actor and it would be a shame if he were out of the show.

Well TOPCAT if this alien can move entire asteroids & change directions on route through Miller & Julie , then I would guess we have not heard the last of them.

Yeah psl, I am thinking they can easily bring him back later through the blue crystal stuff somehow. I just hope he didn't decide to leave the show, like for a different project or something.
