I love Margot. Elliot is really good too. I'm starting to like Penny.. he seemed to be angry for no reason in the first season, now at least when he's angry it seems to be for good reason.
I'm disappointed the Beast was ended so soon.. he was a really intriguing villain.
One of the few shows I watch as soon as I can rather than "when I feel like it". Maybe it's because I saw the show and then read (the first 2) books, but I prefer the show.
I'm in my fifties and this show is one step away from being Freeform (née abc family) schlock. But I LOVE it. I am completely enthralled.
I keep asking myself why, and I could probably make arguments for the cast or the set design or the world building or the the writing or some other BS, but really I have no idea. I just love it. It's one of the few shows I watch live rather than DVRing for a later viewing.
I should be ashamed of loving it but I'm too enamored to even lie.
Let's be honest - it's Harry Potter for adults. Actually, this show's referenced the Potter flicks a few times, which is a brilliant nod, IMO. All the pop references seem to be on point and a great source of humor here.
It doesn't hurt that all of the Main Characters are extremely hot - which, bleh, I can get over that. I thought it would be TOO annoying, but the character flaws and writing work well enough, for me, to create that realistic vibe, to counter this other wise fantastic world. I really dig that mix up.
This has all the key things I enjoy in fiction: Violence, Humor, Character's I care about (even the enemy's to a certain extent) & special effects, decent enough (sometimes they're great) to sell me the goods.
I’m marathoning on Netflix. First time watching the show. It definitely has its shortcomings but has some great dialog and I’m enjoying the more adult take on things. Some of the climactic events are way too predictable in how they’ll go wrong ie.what characters will screw up plans of others etc. Margo has become a favorite and enjoying Julia with no shade as she was kind of annoying before. It’s weird to like a show even though the two main protagonists (Quentin and Julia) are no fun most of the time. I’ve always hated the over jittery, twitchy stuttering nervous protagonist just waiting to become more or somehow grow a pair. Quentin is the personification of this.
Was this show edited on its original broadcasts because the amount of cursing is really high. Not complaining, just interested how the SyFy broadcast goes out.

I am as well. I haven't read the books but have seen a few spoilers. It seems it is diverting but still keeping major plot points.
