Seemed like they dropped the James/Zilpha storyline? (SPOILER)

I felt like they almost wrote out the relationship/storyline between James and Zilpha with the abrupt scene in his office where he essentially "dumps her", and her suicide? Did I miss something?, or is the actress not available for a 2nd season?

To me, this was the least interesting storyline. And I don't think, she has succeeded killing herself. Also, James says he didn't fell/see her dying. So, if there's another season, I'm sure she'll make a return in some way.

That whole storyline just felt weird to me (not just because incest weirds me out in general). He was the one that forced his way back into her life, quite aggressively, then he ends it that abruptly?
