Sense of smell also elicits strong memory response. And women, while blindfolded, can identify their babies through olfactory sense alone. As a defense mechanism, a woman's sense of smell is stronger than a male's and increases during pregnancy and menstruation. Interesting stuff! (to me, anyway)
I like Jane, Bonnie's a little too yuppie for me. Does anyone still use that word?
I don't hear it very often, not since the eighties. I read somewhere that they are now simply referred to as douchebags. I hope this was written in a satirical manner :) For me they will always be guys and gals with shoulder pads, huge cell phones and Porsches.
I always just thought Young Urban Professional, but more than that: entitled, driven by competitive avarice and an eminence front. Any greedy, pretentious jerk can be one. I don't know any hippies who turned, I sure didn't.
Yes, I've seen the Big Chill about a dozen times; that movie speaks to me in many ways.
And you are right: ALL the ladies would benefit from therapy. I'm surprised they aren't going already, but maybe it's no longer fashionable. And that therapist is doing a good job with Celeste-yes!!!!- she's gotten more truths out of her than Celeste realizes.
So far, I've resisted the temptation to look up the book on Wiki. But I still think Ziggy didn't hit Emma. I think Celeste's kids have seen the abuse and it's one or both of them. I really think that is the case in light of the counseling Celeste received.
I think Reese's character is a good friend and tries to be a good mother, but besides that she's terrible!! She seemed nice at first but by the second episode it became clear to me that she's as bad as Renata! The Disney on Ice thing was so ridiculous, it was so childish and a low blow. She loves picking fights and sticking her nose in were she doesn't belong.

Definitely, therapy would help all the ladies and kids, especially poor Shailene's character (who'se name I forgot)! The rape has fucked her up so bad..imagine staring at your rapists child every day and remebering it, having your kid always reminding of the worst night of your life.. I wouldn't be able to do it.

I totally agree, I' m thinking one of them is the bully, or both, because they saw they're dad and are emulating him somehow! They're super cute but that would explain a lot! My mom read the book and I tolk her my thory but I made her promise to hide her reaction and not to tell me anything! Hahaha
Since I cheated and can't talk about which kid did it , how about Reeses's youngest daughter?
The first time she butts in between the conversation her older sister was having with her mother one didn't assume she did it on purpose.
But tonight was a different story.
Did you see the way she told her parents to go back to doing whatever they were doing again and pretending not to?
She's a very manipulative little creature!
She seems to resent it whenever her father or sister are getting the attention of her mother.
I actually think she's super cute, smart and advanced for her age! She's a kid, of course she wants her parent's attention!! I bet on the twins copying their crazy daddy.
SPOILERS!
Holy shit. Did Celeste really just take out Perry's dick with a badminton racket? Did Madeline really just go all out exorcist at dinner? So many serious issues here, and I'm really enjoying how the characters are reacting to, uh, stimulus. Celeste's analyst is stepping up her game, I'm loving that. You knew when Perry came home early it was to abort Celeste's evening. I hope she gets out in time; definitely her's is the most volatile story arc.
Jane vs. Renata: well done Jane. The assault had to happen to generate the truce.
Abby's secret project? Wow. If that was my daughter, I'd have to shut that deal down. Sensationalize something else for a cause......

I probably would've hung out with Bonnie or Jane. The others would get on my nerves.
