I had a feeling that season 2 newcomer Billy (played by Dacre Montgomery) would have a physical confrontation with Jonathan Byers (played by Charlie Heaton). This seems all to be confirmed in the latest trailer for Season 2, as there was a brief glimpse of a fight between the two characters.
In the director’s descriptions of the character strongly hinted that Billy would be an abusive older stepbrother to another season newcomer Max (played by Sadi Sink). This is in direct contrast to the loving relationship between Jonathan and his younger brother Will (played by Noah Schnapp). Personality wise, Billy has been described as very sociable and outgoing, yet very controlling and violent. Jonathan on the other hand seems very solitary and passive to an almost pacifist degree…unless seriously provoked. Films and other forms of fiction like to to pit mirror counterparts against one another. I foresee Stranger Things putting a mirror counterpart type conflict between Jonathan and Billy.
I think the seeds of the Jonathan-Billy fight will start by having Max bond with Will and his friends. Billy will be outraged by the fact that he is losing control of Max, due to her new friends. So he decides to vent his violent rage on Will and his friends. This eventually leads to Jonathan trying to protect his younger brother and his friends from Billy, thus leading to a violent fight.
Since the creators of Stranger Things have outright stated that Billy was modeled after Jack Nicholson’s character in the Shining, I am guessing that the Shadow Monster will drive Billy to violence. Very similar to how Nicholson’s character was driven to madness by the ghosts inhabiting the hotel.

There's definitely something odd about Max and Billy's family dynamic. Like they're in the witness protection program, maybe. Or Billy's father is a wanted fugitive. Something along those lines. Just a feeling I got from them that something isn't normal about their family. Maybe now that Max has been accepted into this circle of friends with even bigger secrets she'll feel comfortable telling them what's going on.

I wonder what happened to Billy after they left him alone with the "supposedly dead" DemoDog in the fridge... nudge nudge, wink wink.
