I think she was. Most of the stuff that happened to her was either regular high school crap or stuff she brought on herself. For example, people become friends and then drift apart all the time as teenagers. I know because I am one. High school is one stupid drama after another. Also, the rape stuff that happened was either due to underage intoxication or sheer stupidity. Girls, I have news for you: Boys are ridiculously horny ALL THE TIME! If you want to avoid bad situations, don't get blasted at parties, especially if you tend to hang around a bunch of immature dudes who you don't trust. It's a recipe for disaster. So Hannah goes to a party, gets drunk and fails to come to the aid of a another drunk girl. She basically watcher her get raped. Then, as if that wasn't stupid enough, a few days later she walks to the rapist's house, strips to her bra and panties and hops into his hot tub!! OMG! He's a rapist, you dunderhead! So what happens? She gets raped of course. What a stupid girl. Then she goes to the school counselor and expects him to read her mind. She won't name the boy, she doesn't say she was raped. It's a mess! She is too young to drink. There are drinking laws for a reason. It's because teenagers are moronic as hell SOBER. Do they think they will get smarter when blasted on booze?!? Wow. I don't even know what the message of this show was. I was liking it for a while but it got so stupid and annoying by the end.

Sister, we live in a democracy, so no, I don't. But, for your ignorance, rape doesn't happen because someone wears revealing clothes or because someone's drunk. It happens because someone else is an arsehole

Ahh, I see. So you think we can wave a magic anti-rape wand and men will realize that rape is wrong and it will never happen again. OK, sure thing. I prefer to live in the real world, however. Here's the bad news: Rape isn't going away. But guess what!? There is some good news! You can GREATLY reduce the likelihood of being raped by controlling your desires to drink like an effing maniac. If you are of sober mind, you can then completely and clearly realize when a guy is being, as you put it, an "arsehole." You can also get the hell away from him. If you are passed out, good luck with that.

I am male, and people can protect drunk people, like Justin should have with Jessica. Nevertheless, I will not argue with you, as you are so stubborn.

I find your point of view sexist. You are basically arguing that females are weak and incapable of protecting themselves.

I hope this is a joke post because if it isn't you have really crossed the line. You are calling me names because I hold a different viewpoint than you and you feel threatened by my intelligence. I find your behavior totally inexcusable. I haven't once resorted to childish name-calling like you. You are reporting me? For what? Because you got smoked in a debate? I am reporting YOU now. Unbelievable.

Kewl_Kat was not defending a rapist, only saying that Hannah would likely not have been a victim if she had better control over her actions. True, someone could still be raped if sober, but at least they have the mental capacity to attempt to escape, not being passed out drunk. That's not sympathizing with the rapist. I never felt it was a "scumbag" thing to say.
It's like the scene when Hannah was making out with the Asian girl after they had both been drinking. When stuff turns south, it's someone else's fault in her opinion, never "Hey, maybe I should not have been in my home drinking while I'm underage, on the bed with another girl with the curtains up". Some of her 13 reasons were truly messed up, but a few of them was her blaming others for stuff she could've controlled.

Threatened by your "intelligence"?? Hahaha! I am disgusted by your apologist attitude towards Bryce. This is exactly the reason several rape victims don't come forward. And yes, you did call people names. You called me sarcastically "knowledgeable one", and you just called me "sexist" just because I pointed out Justin should have done more to help Jessica (as, for that matter, should Hannah)- and if we're talking sexist, who was the one who said "Boys are ridiculously horny all the time"? You! And I'll let you in on something- I'm a borderline asexual virgin! So, yeah, don't talk to me about sexism. And don't get me started on the way you talked to Jana. And yes, I reported this thread for all the reasons I have just listed

I don't deny that Hannah doesn't accept any blame a few times when she could have (I'm not a fan of her)- but the fact is, while saying a drunk person is putting themselves in potential danger is a fair comment, to say it was "all basically her fault" is definitely a nasty thing to say. It's not a case of holding different viewpoints, it's the way Kewl_Kat… well, if you see my latest comment to her, you'll know why. To be honest, I'm unsubscribing to this thread, as although you yourself seem capable of rational conversation, a lot of people here don't. Trouble is about Courtney and Tyler though, is that the former lied about Hannah coming onto her, when it was the opposite, while Tyler, he was obviously invading both of their personal spaces.

Kindly point out where I ever defended the actions of that character. My whole point was that people need to take responsibility for themselves.
Also, since you seem to struggle with reality, Bryce, Hannah, and all the rest are fictional characters. I am free to give my opinions on all of them without some weirdo flagging my posts. I abide by the guidelines of the site, while you have broken them with your personal attacks against me. You come on here and instead of having a mature conversation, start calling me names like a child. You should be ashamed of yourself. Unlike the fiction characters in a TV show, I am a real person who, quite frankly, feels that you have some serious growing up to do.

This whole thread is a defence for him.... Rapists, and rapists alone are the only people to blame for rape. And I'm aware they're not real, but the whole point of this series was to raise awareness of what can cause someone to kill themselves. So, while your criticisms of Hannah won't offend Hannah, what about real rape victims (like Jana's daughter) who might read your propaganda, and see the contemptible words you have written. And I didn't want a conversation with you at all, because, despite what you think, you have broken several rules of this site with the way you talked to people before me, and clearly, you can dish criticism out, but you can't take it. No, I'm not ashamed of myself, because people who act like rape victims under any circumstance need to take responsibility for the fact that they were drunk and someone took advantage, need to grow up. You've constantly deflected from what I said, and have decided to focus purely on 13RW (which, btw, is the point of this thread, so I don't understand why you're objecting to me focusing on them), while I have spoken about how real rape victims don't come forward often, because people like you point the finger of blame at them.
