I think Bishop and Mavis were lovers at some point but Oprah shot down that theory about Grace in an interview. My guess is it's just plain jealousy.
Ah, OK. Well, if that's the case, I agree; jealousy then. Here's my background story (all in my head...LOL)
Lady Mae had her eye on Bishop but he had his eye on Mavis. When Mavis blew him off, he went to Mae....his second choice. Yeah, this is all in my head...LOL
I was surprised to see the liquor bottle on Mavis' nightstand...and the young stud! The Bishop still has some sort of feelings for her to interfere like that.

I definitely think Mavis is James's true love or first love but Mae somehow sabotaged their relationship. We know how "flirtatious and charming" she can be lol. Or Mavis wasn't ready to commit and Sister Mae swooped in. And as for Grace, I'm beginning to think maybe Bishop isn't the father. I hope they don't go the incest route and make Henry the dad. I know he said Mae isn't his but it's still incest in my eyes. Still can't get that kiss out of my head.
Me too. It is good so far. I really hope uncle Mac get's justice brought to him. I want to know a lot more about Mavis. I think Bishop and Mavis had a thing as well. Interesting point on the first love theory, I can definitely see it. Grace not being Bishops could also be a an explanation with how bad she treats her for no reason. Mae is something else and her father is horrible. Now wonder Mae is the way she is. That kiss was so disgusting. I still don't understand why she treats Grace so badly. Would she have rather her keep her mouth shut about the rapes? Grace is not perfect but she wanted to bring justice to things. All of these issues were under the surface they just all came out at once. And Kevin needs to just live his life because Ipecac is not the answer.
