You can read all about it over at Screen Rants, it would seem that nobody gets to write about the show's content until after it has already aired. Usually a sign of a lack of confidence on behalf of the producers.
Not long to go until we see how Trek got killed by people who don't care for it writing for it.

I get the very strong feeling it's being made by people who just want to talk about gender-bending etc, and only slapped the "Star Trek" name on it so the network would give them money. I won't be at all surprised if The Orville turns out to be the far better option, between those two.

I though the Orville wopuld be over the top satire. BUt it seems to be a pretty straight forward dramedy with alot of comic relief.

@Raymondoz2007, so far The Orville seems to be very respectful of the genre and keeps its comedy pedal about half-way with the odd tap for a gag and release for a sombre moment. I'm hoping the can maintain this style and hopefully craft it into a science fiction show for the ages ala Firefly or Quantum Leap.

They seem to be off to a good start, RS.

Well, the Star Trek name is on it. So... I will dare to go out on a limb and say that the audience WILL BE expecting some trekking of stars and that will be what they give us.
