.. which is set approx. 9 years after DSC, does it make sense to ask whether DSC is Kelvin or Prime timeline ?

Isn't it a prequel to both timelines ? What am I missing ?

Seems like Kelvin timeline must start before when Discovery is set. Because Discovery is set 10 years before TOS. But 13 years before TOS, Spock was already serving with Captain Pike and they'd already met the Talosians.

Right, of course. I forgot Nero and his crew waited a couple of years for Spock to arrive. And actually he arrived with his ship the moment Kirk was born. That's way before DSC. My bad grin
