I'm hoping that by starting what may be the first open thread about Victoria, it'll be easier for IMDB message board refugees to begin navigating this alternative forum. But I'm not sure if it'll work so bear with me.

I'm here. It stinks that they are disabling that. Poo.

Hello! I'm also an imminent refugee of the IMDb boards. I've just posted a message on the Victoria board there, encouraging people to check things out and to migrate here.
This is my very first message board post on TMDb. :)

I've just come from the IMDB board where I saw your message. thank you. I'm so disappointed in them and I hope this takes off

I love this show and am glad I found this place... IMDB closing their boards stinks! On the plus side, since it has already aired in the UK maybe there is less chance of spoilers. Though I guess we all know how this story turned out, lol. I am going to start another thread on a more specific topic. Cheers!

I actually watched it all online months ago but have been re-watching most of it. I think I like it even more the 2nd time around.

It's great there's a forum for this now Imdb has gone. I hope it builds up. I live in the UK so I'm lucky enough to have seen the finale. I think it's nice there's a Christmas special this year

Terrific about the forthcoming Christmas special. Particularly since, if I'm not mistaken, Prince Albert is always credited with having been who I'm not sure whether introduced or simply (via Victoria having been his internationally known spouse) popularized the Christmas trees tradition.

I didn't know that about Prince Albert and Christmas trees. Interesting. I love Christmas, especially ever since we stopped the gift giving!!! I also didn't realize that Victoria started the white wedding gown tradition. They were obviously savvy trendsetters.

The "happening" power couple of the world back then, I gather. :)

I recently re-watched Young Victoria on Starz I think (maybe Showtime) and they did note at the end how much as a "power couple" they did for the country. Great film, if you haven't seen it and worth a re-watch if you have.

Definitely worth watching, Emily Blunt was nominated for an Oscar.

I loved The Young Victoria. Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend were adorable together. That film was one of the reasons I got into this series
