Was there some sort of double entendre that went over my head when Penge said to Brodie something like, "Would it make you feel better if I put on a frock?" The brief scene seemed more like a humorous outtake that the director decided to keep in, rather than something that advanced the plot. But I'm not sure -- was Brodie lonesome for someone? Lohlein??? Or was he jealous of chef Francatelli's progress with Miss Skerrett?
ALSO, it dawned on me that the Duke of Sussex's wife, who was given the title of Duchess of Inverness, was portrayed by the series' creator, Daisy Goodwin!

Good observation, spotting Daisy Goodwin in that scene! I hadn't at all realized, when watching it the other week, that was her - though it sure is!
As for the Penge comment you mentioned about should he put on a frock, I took that as kiddingly meant to cheer up the young guy who was moping due to missing his girlfriend.

Hmm, I don't think Brodie ever mentioned having a gf. Lohlein did though.
During the season finale, Brodie was constantly (and comically) quoting Shakespeare, so now I'm wondering if Penge's remark could have something to do with the fact that male actors in Shakespeare's day portrayed the female characters in his plays.
Anyway, I was just a little puzzled by Penge's remark about the frock -- and probably paying more attention to it than it deserves.
