Fortunately, the series has been renewed for a second season, which I believe is already in production. Also, I've read that there will be a Christmas special.

I don't know why but the finale left me a teensy bit cold for some reason. It had its moments, but I guess so much focus on pregnancy and childbirth just didn't interest me very much in spite of all of the other drama swirling about.

One thing though -- I didn't realize the first born child was a girl. I always presumed Edward VII had been the first born and didn't realize primogeniture was a factor when it came to the heir apparent in this case.

Yep: Eldest child Victoria "Vicky" grew up to be none other than the German empress and Prussian queen via her marriage to Frederick III. She was Kaiser Wilhelm's mother. I've read that she didn't at all care for him.
