I've been at IMDb a long time, but we all know what happened there. Anyone from there going to start using these boards? I'm on the r/riverdale subreddit, too, but it's not the same as a messageboard.

I think it would do well since its got a good time slot..being aired after the longest CW show (that I know of) i expect a lot of ppl to tune in..if not on TV then Netflix..i wish all shows aired weekly on Netflix.

I'm really happy to see more people coming to this site. Seems like a nice place to me. I've also found that most stand alone messageboards die after a while. There are exceptions, of course, but without being attached to a larger site it seems that new people don't find them often enough to replace users who leave, and then it becomes just 20 people who all know each other chatting.
@Matt--I wasn't that prolific, either, but I liked reading the boards. Here's hopin gthat more lurkers come out of the shadows.

@vox -- I agree. What was so great about IMDb was the ability to search and discuss any show/movie out there. The Supernatural board was my primary haunt (no pun intended) but it seems like most of that lot moved on to a show-specific forum created by the main clique. That's not really what I was after as an alternative. I prefer having the freedom to discuss other shows I follow with a much larger group, something this site replicates really well. As you say, it's now just a case of hanging in and waiting for the place to grow a bit more.

I'm here. I don't post a lot on any board. I'm using several of the new sites; this, MovieChat, a couple of others. I may settle into one, or not, depending on how things go.

I was more of a lurker with sparing posts, but I may end up changing that now that this is a new place!

Yes, and I hope this site will grow and become as important as IMDb.

Same here.
I wonder how many users IMDb lost when they shut down the boards...

I'm a former IMBD user. I personally like this site much better!

Let's hope the trolls find somewhere else to be.

It seems like, for whatever reason, that it's The Walking Dead discussion page that is so bizarre and where the trolls like to hang out.

Long time user of IMDb. Was upset when they closed the boards. Awful decision. They didn't consider a compromise option like charging a fee to re-register. That might have removed some of the troll-element. I didn't think IMDb had a major troll problem but it seemed an easy "excuse" by online media to support the decision to remove the boards. People just assumed IMDb boards were all troll-infested. Unfair assumption.
I think TMDB has great potential. The new movies/tv shows are getting decent feedback but it may take much longer for older movies/tv shows to get comments. IMDb was around for over 15 years and its userbase grew over a long period. The same can happen here. :) People should stick with TMDB, give it a chance.
