Discuss The Good Fight

I think she is a great character and Carrie Preston does a great job portraying her. I wouldn't mind seeing her more often in the show.

Me too! I love Elsbeth and Carrie Preston is so good! Do you have a favourite scene with her from TGW? There were so many ... I think mine is when she was disturbing the treasury guy during his lunch break - I had to laugh so much about this scene! She's really great.

She'll be in the next episode on Sunday, and then one more in this season, as far as I can remember. And there's always next season to look forward to! smiley_cat

On the other hand, I think - for me - there would be a point when she gets too annoying. For example, the story line with Josh Perotti was hard to watch at the end; the same goes for the episode with the penguins in her head. That was too much, for my taste. That's why I like what they're doing so far - episode 5 and her banter with Mike and the lovely scenes with his wife were just perfect and so fun to watch!

Best wishes,

I think I have enjoyed every scene she's ever been in. I have too many favourite episodes to name. I did really like when she came in to represent Lockheart Gardener in a sexual harassment suit.

Yeah I think I saw that she would be in the next episode but it's a welcome surprise she'll be in another one too. I totally get what you mean about her possibly getting too annoying. I think if she doesn't have the episode focused on her like the penguin one then she's a great addition. I do think that episode was more done to show she is some kind of legal savant.

I think my favourite scene with her and Mike was when she played the recording to him. He totally underestimated that she can be so cunning.

Yes, I remember that episode! Do you know the outtakes from this episode? I think there were 3, but I can only find 2 of them at the moment:

  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYn-hJmHqnI
  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skjLC4EFczM

So funny! And the second one really shows how good Carrie Preston is as an actress!

Yes, I think you're right on this.

That's true. And so many people underestimated her before, Mike should've known better, haha.

Another detail I wanted to add and forgot before: I love that the writers bring up "Fantasia" again and again, but we never really see her at all. Well, we don't even know if she exists in reality or if she's just a figment of Elsbeth's mind. I chuckle every time Elsbeth mentions her, and I remember when Will came to her office and it was all under construction. You are right, there are so many good scenes with her!

I almost wish they would make her a regular character, I absolutely love her.

I love the character, too, but I agree that she could become "too much of a good thing" if overused. I hope they keep her a recurring character.
