Yes, Frank was really something else if that part was the truth. I don't doubt it, but I read the character of Pauline is fictional because I was trying to find her movie "The Black Slipper." They may have fictionalize Frank's tirade also except I heard before that he did act like that; threaten to kill people.

I hope that entire female wants to be a director thing was actually based on something because it really feels out of place. Are they just trying to give the maid more scenes?

I thought it was great like the previous three had been. It's not going to be eight consecutive episodes of Dynasty-style bitchy cat-fights. There needs to be context and character development. The episode was about how nothing recedes like success, and the continuing problems these women (and Aldrich) had while in the midst of a massive hit. Davis couldn't have made it any plainer when she said she could still open a picture nationwide but couldn't get anything better than guest spots on mediocre TV shows. If it had been 10 years later, she would have done an Irwin Allen disaster movie, no doubt.

I too thought the Pauline character was real or at least closely based on someone real -- my guess is she's a composite to illustrate the sexism of the time.

I kept staring at the screen in disbelief. That's when I questioned how much facts are used in this show. It seems as though the writers are making all these famous movie stars look terrible. It's almost a character assassination. This show is in poor taste.
