I have read that also. I am not panicking just yet. Although, the Thursday ratings were half of what the Sunday ratings were they were not horrible. The Orville still did better than most of the other shows in it's time slot and many people did not know about the move to a new day.
I am certainly concerned, as you are, but I remain cautiously optimistic for the time being. We'll have to wait and see how it works out.
One problem is, I think some network exec types somehow expect a show to maintain constant or even improving ratings no matter how much they move it around.
Network types live in some dream world of their own and never consider what the audience is feeling or thinking. I remember when they changed the time period of a show, then cancelled it because "nobody was watching" in the new time period. Did it occur to them that nobody knew when it was coming on? (Don't remember the name, but two of the actors were Brent Spiner from STAR TREK and Peter Dinklage (pre-GAME OF THRONES).)
I was impressed by the episode when the aliens planted some mutant blooms in a church garden. I expected the show to treat the minister as an ignorant rube chattering about angels, though in fact he was treated as an intelligent man who sought a scientific explanation. Hooray for a show that avoided stereotypes.
In my universe, The Orville now follows Gotham. Two very good shows, but with a very different feel. For me Gotham is OK but I really REALLY want The Orville to succeed.
What is interesting is "The Orville" getting bumped by the "Teenage Mutant TV Programmers" just as the ratings are dropping. It's early, but "doing a 'Firefly" is what I expect out of Fox. Oh well, I can always go back to "Star Trek: Discovery" and see how The Navigator is doing...

That would be Threshold. It was pretty good, for as long as it lasted. By the way, I have all the episodes if you're interested.

I heard that the panic was for nothing - people simply had their DVRs set or were confused by the change.
Only lost a million or so from the swtichup. We'll have to see.

The sunday ratings were only that high because of football overruns. So far the ratings on thursday are ok for fox.
