Actually by season 3 Girl meets world viewership was dropping a great deal. As someone who grew up with Boy meets World I blame the writing for the drop in the later season. They really threw the legacy characters to the sidelines and it was like they were there just to react to the kids. They had a brilliant character in Farkle that got through interesting changes but they completely neglected him in the third season although he had better chemistry with the girls then the guy who played Lucas. It was very frustrating as it had great potential. Now Raven's home and also fuller house is really what Girl meets world should have inspired to be like. They have a great balance between old and new, they are successful because they knew exactely what fans wanted and it gave it to them while at the same time adding new material to attract the younger audience.

Fair enough, I guess lasting 3 seasons isn't that bad, but I expected the show to be better than it than it turned out.
I've heard good things about Raven's home, so I'll probably check it out.
