This is correct.
The broadcaster has renamed the first seasons originally broadcasted as "series 1" to "series 6" and are now calling them "series 3" to "series 8". They should remain named as "Series 1" to "Series 6" as they were broadcasted as such.
The new season (the 7th one) is broadcasted as "Series 9" by the broadcaster. So, it should be listed as such.
As indicated in our rules: "When seasons are re-organized, for example after a network change, (e.g. American Dad, Futurama), we do not re-arranged the aired seasons/episodes. The new season is simply added as the next season."
