Well downloading a personality into a cloned body is one thing but to clone something which is organic out of something mechanical are two entirely different things .It's like taking a bit from the hard drive of your computer and make a biological copy of that sorry but however you try to spin that it's just plain stupid and dumb.

Being a REPLICANT and an ANDROID are two very different things Invidia A REPLICANT is a biologically enhanced Humanoid it is manufactured from organic material (DNA)(hence the discussion between Roy and Tyrell they discus CHEMICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL ways to block the genetically implanted lifespan restriction of the Nexus 6).AN ANDROID is an artificial humanoid(Data identifies himself as an artificial lifeform) i.e. He is made of electrical components wires high end plastics etc he is manufactured mechanically so there is huge difference between the two .Which is why it is so hard to see the difference between a Nexus 6 REPLICANT and humans and is why they need a psycho emotional test (the Voight Kamp test) which is based on a biological reaction of the pupils an ANDROID is very easy identifiable from a human you just hit the on and off button(like Data has) or pull off his arm and you immediately see he is artificial.A distinction that both Kurtzman and his writers obviously don't know.Replicants are like organic robots and androids are mechanical Robots made from inorganic material period claiming otherwise is just plain dumb.And the Borg are mechanically(artificially) enhanced organic beings they are cybernetic robots i.e a mix of the organical and mechanical(artificial) .The Borg use artificial mechanical components to enhance their organical limitations.To put it plain and simple YOU CAN'T CLONE AN ANDROID PERIOD and all the Borg technology and science is not going to change that .

Again BSG is not Star Trek Kurtzman might fancy himself to be Ron D Moore but he ain't and even in BSG the "skin jobs" required organical components which the Cylons harvested from the humans (remember The Farm and Starbuck?) Also Baltar needed specific radiation for his Cylon detector to distinct Human from Cylon material if the Cylons were mere robots the difference would be far more easier to determine they wouldn't have needed Baltar's detector.Also in Blood and Chrome we see a young Adama discovering a research facility where Humans were experimented on to create a Hybrid(See BSG movie Razor)which were a kind of prototype for the skinjobs.So the skinjob Cylons are a mixture of mechanic(artificial ) and organic.They were created by the final five(although original five would have been more accurate)Who had the technology and knowhow to create the skin jobs .The Skin jobs are cybernetic lifeforms much like the Borg and the Terminator only more sophisticated.And Sharon was killed by Cally it was Athena who had the child but it still required the human organical component(Helo).

In Measure Of A Man it was not to determine whether Data was Human or an organic entity(which Riker quite effectively disproved) But whether Data was a sentient entity a machine that had developed itself beyond it's original programming and having traits associated with other (organic) sentient beings in order to claim the same rights as any other sentient lifeforms,but in no way is Data an organic lifeform Data is an artificial sentient lifeform.The same applies to Holoframs

And according to Data B4 might look like him but he is an earlier simpler version of himself so just putting his memory engrams in B4 doesn't make him the same as Data.Data and B4 are as different from another as Data and Lore are.

Like I said Star Trek when it want's to be called Star Trek has to abide to the laws laid down by previous shows as canon and all we have heard of and I watched a couple of reviews(including ones that weren't entirely dismissive named is this a being a dumb thing and not according to Star Trek canon if you want viewers who have had years of experience watching Trek to suspend disbelieve than the fictional thing you are trying to convey have to work according previously established rules and guidelines for them to accept it if you don't the whole things fails.

Sorry Invidia I tried to watch the new Trek but to me it ain't Star Trek anymore despite claims of the contrary it is not the Trek I grew up with and loved.It's a dumbed down version which thinks all viewers like to wallow in a post 9/11 Dystopia of doom and gloom with lots of fighting ,explosions,action and lens flares.It's a show for the ad/hd generation and about as subtle with it's political message as a sledgehammer(which also makes it very dated).It is no longer the beacon of light in the dreariness of every day life.Back at the time when my mother died when I was in a very dark place it managed to keep me from falling into depression(which is why ENT is so close to my heart and I owe a lot to that show)Now when I am watching the new Trek I actually become depressed.So no ,no more Kurtzman Trek for me.You may think it is all great and wonderful but I just disagree and I think a lot of people with me who share those fond memories.And talking more about STD and STP makes me feel depressed,angry and sad. So I'll stick to old Trek and try to watch season 3 of STD and that's it.

I don't have CBS all access and don't have any plans or interest in watching ST-P. I for one have no more interest in ST. It's over an done with and any new show is not going to be like the original 6 series. I don't care about extended drama and cameo appearances by the old cast members. Or complicated plots that take the whole run to be explained. It could be good. If it was on and I was present I would watch but I wouldn't go out of my way.
